Sunny Side Upby DougPazComment: Critique Club
A really good attempt and a clever technique that is pretty effective here.
The composition is well thought out and I like that the heat is on too.
What really kills this shot is the lighting - and it is hard to get better with a long exposure shot like this.
One thought would maybe to try a longer exposure and 'stutter' the egg movement, so that you record it at various points. Here you have started with it 'not moving' and it has recorded clearly in the 'just above the pan' area. |

I think your comments are right on the money. It does have a interesting abstract feel to it and I like how the headlights fill in the foreground. It does have a slight 'Jackson Pollock' feel to it too, with the squiggly light trails all converging into the center. I feel like I'm in a world of oscilloscopes. Not sure I can think of anything to really contribute to making this look 'better. It is what it is - if you like and enjoy it then it works. Certainly shows motion and meets the challenge. |

UP THE GUTby tito79_98Comment: You've gotten the motion here certainly. Seems like the camera/ ground is tilted though which you could have maybe fixed with a slight rotation - or it could just be because of the receeding fence line.
The main problem I have with this is I can't see where the ball is - I might be able to guess but it would be good to see the real 'play' that is happening here.
Also, you are quite far away from the action - maybe a tighter crop (either digitally, or actually being closer to what was going on, say if the play was closer to the sideline) would be more dramatic. Sports photography is hard, so you did well here. |

Shot from a car ? Certainly gives the effect of 'motion' and you have a short enough shutter speed that I can still see the skyline.
Overall though it doesn't really say much to me. I'm not really clear what you are trying to communicate with this, other than the car vibrates a lot.
Compositionally the lower half of the shot seems like 'dead' space, and you've lost the top of the building in the upper right.
Maybe a longer exposure could have made a more abstract image with longer trails ?

Market Streetby MiekaComment: Critique Club
Black and white works well for this. Makes the focus on the shapes/ patterns rather than what I would expect be a riot of colour.
The person in the scene also adds a lot of interest.
I think the only problem I have with this is how it has been converted to black & white. It feels very flat, with fairly low contrast. Some additional work to make this more contrasty might have made better use of the strong shadows and made the whole picture 'pop' a bit more. |

This is a charming picture. The lighting is excellent - very even and soft and the 'pose' seems quite natural. The smile looks genuine and you've gotten good catchlights in the eyes which bring the shot to life.
The only problem I have with this shot is that I think you need to use a longer lens/ get further away as it just feels like her features are a bit distorted by the focal length on the camera.
Not sure if you can do that with your current equipment though, but it has made her head seem ever so slightly 'off' and makes me uneasy looking at the shot. Everything else is extremely well done. |

Shooting Stars!by GordonComment: Zoom lens, long exposure, zooming while taking the shot to get the light trails. |

GYMby amonteforteComment: great! Only suggest would it be maybe better to have the 'foreground' person facing the camera so the reflection was the background and the face was more obvious ? |

Speed Readingby paynekjComment: A good idea, though I'd like to see it with an even slower shutter speed so the blur was more visible ? |
