Send Me An Angelby magnetic9999Comment: think I'd like to see 'both sides' of this shot - in a landsape aspect ratio to get the knees and wings in ? |

Lost Soulby jmsetzlerComment: Great use of infra-red to give a really 'spooky' image. I think maybe that as in all good portraiture, it would be better to have less of a sharp sunlight/ shadow region on your face, so that it all registered but that is pretty minor. Very effective picture. (8) |

J O S Hby brandonarbiniComment: You requested a critique: A good, clean, well lit black and white picture of a ornament/scuplture. THe background is nicely dark and the off-center framing works well, with the lion's head being tilted to 'face' into the space.
The tonal contrast on the lion is quite flat and I think could have been enhanced by less even lighting to bring out the texture and three dimensional nature of the object more strongly.
The border enhances the picture and sets it off well. I think you really scored badly because this is more of a 'still life' than a portrait and people voted accordingly.

Skipping Stonesby SwashbucklerComment: Critique Club:
Looks like a hard shot to get and pretty poor lighting too. My main issue is that I don't think the shutter was fast enough - I'd like it more with a faster shutter/ maybe higher ISO to really freeze the droplets that are in the air and to give a crisper splash.
A great idea and good execution apart from that though. |
