Brush Barnby dsternerComment: i am mostly interested in the barn, but a bit frustrated that it's so small and blocked by the grass. would love to see this shot again with the barn taking up most of the frame, maybe portrait orientation, and the contrast of the white door/window looks like it could really show some promise. and obviously a full 620 or 740 pixels high/wide. Pictures in the darkby asimchoudhriComment: i think this is very effective, but just needs to be brighter. it's hard to make out the occupation at first glance. |

Jump starting the seasonby TlemetryComment: i thought this was a bit dark and not enough emphasis on the dirt. take the watering can, fill it with dirt and a single "sprout" of growth, and see where that takes this image... |

Snowflake Ornamentby TlemetryComment: i wish the background could be even MORE prominent, to emphasize the intersection of the patterns by both the subject and the paper. the color is great. |

A......A Batteryby J-MeComment: i agree with some of the comments. it's shot well, but lacks "umph!" the image does seem noisy, not sure what caused it.
from an abstract perspective, the ground plane looks like it's moving, which makes it interesting. i think that's a by-product of the simplicity of the subject and the placement within the frame. |

Hands At Peaceby J-MeComment: i'm surprised people didn't get this one. obviously they haven't been to a funeral. whether this is the deceased or a mourner, doesn't matter to me. the point is there and it's lit and shot well. should have scored higher, IMO. |

Boudoir Beagleby colorcarnivalComment: i like the soft focus on the subject and it's a well-lit. if i had voted, this would have gotten a 7 from me. |

A Salt and Battery - Crime Never Paysby colorcarnivalComment: i'd like to see this shot again, but with the bars in the middle of the frame and the salt and battery on either side, like a section cut. it would put us more in a "place" where these 2 elements are interacting. not sure how you'd pull it off, tho. |

A tree's life is like some of oursby justamistereComment: again, i think your score isn't reflective of the image, considering the special effects a lot of people put on theirs. however, i want to see more: more of the tree, more sky, and more of its surrounding environment. i guess it's hard to determine exactly how harsh this is. i don't mind the power lines through the moon, but they probably could have been removed easily.
i'd like to see the outtakes! |

Happy New Year!!!!by justamistereComment: i thought this shot would have done better with the bottom 1/3 cropped off. the dynamics of the light against the wrapper on the top 2/3 are less stimulating against the "dullness" of the bottom. a bit more post-processing to emphasize the brilliance of the wrappers would have helped too.
i do think this was better than your 5.11 score, tho... |
