Initial Impression:
A plethora of blue, neat idea. Missing something.
Challenge:
This meets the challenge perfectly in my opinion.
Composition:
There's not much to say here, I think you've done well for your subject matter. Maybe cropping out the top third would have made it a bit more digestable to the eye, but I think that's personal preference.
Technical:
The blue is definitely there and it serves to invoke a melencholy mood. I would like to see a little more contrast to darken the tree branches up, but not too much.
Overall:
Good weather shot, definitely suits the challenge and stirs emotion in me. Good job.

Hi Ray,
Initial Impression:
Orangish, interesting patterns and textures.
Challenge:
It meets the challenge well.
Composition:
Sound, if just a bit uninspiring. I'm not really sure how it could be made better though..
Technical:
As I mentioned in my initial impressions, this is just a bit too orange. It diminishes the impact of the candy ever so slightly and makes it a bit unappetizing to me. I really like the lighting.. it's well done and shows off the texture of the candies nicely. Good Job!
Overall:
I like this photo, it shows off the candy in an appealing manner. Good job!

Hi Heath!
Initial Impression:
A very colourful photo with good emotional impact. Just a tad bit out of focus.
Challenge:
Meets the challenge in an imaginative fashion.
Composition:
There are a few niggling things that I would like to see changed about the composition. First, the tilt is distracting, the other is the lighting. I would have really liked to see the lighting even across the whole face. Other than those things, this is a really good photo. The crop you have chosen really highlights the eyes and the emotion of the person without completely spelling it out for the person.
Technical:
As I said before, it feels a bit out of focus. I think if the eyes were better in focus I'd be more willing to forgive lack of focus elsewhere. Just my feeling though. As I said above, just a bit more lighting on the right side of the face would have improved the composition and impact of the photo for me.
Overall:
Good, emotional shot. I like it very much despite the minor flaws, keep up the good work!

As social commentary this is a clever idea! However, as a photo it falls flat on its face. The title alone isn't enough to give it context, as was noted in the comments. What I would have like to see to make this photo really work would be this construction site with grass or trees in the background, something to establish your premise.
Now, as to the photo. There's nothing to draw the eye to and the lighting is pretty flat. This works for your intent and shows the generally bland color that accompanies construction sites, but it doesn't make for an attractive photo.
I'm actually not sure what else I can say about this photo... Sorry! Good luck in future challenges and I look forward to seeing more of your creativity at work.

Hi Nathalie!
Initial Impression:
Circles, colour, and water.. Good combinations.
Challenge:
I can see the connection to Pi with the circles, but just the circles themselves don't say "Pi" to me.
Composition:
Not much I can say here, it's a well done abstract. I like the combination of the water droplets and the colour circles. That adds a lot of impact to the photo.
Technical/Post-processing:
The lighting is superb, very good detail on the cloth surface and a no really distracting reflections on the water droplets. I think I would like to see just a tad more saturation in the colours, but that really is personal preference.
Overall:
Very nice abstract shot, but the tenuous connection to the challenge may have contributed to the low score.

Hi Picnovice1!
Initial impression:
Decent DoF, Good subject, bad focus.
Challenge:
This meets the challenge well, the subject is very colourful!
Composition:
Good, but marred by a few flaws. First, the flower on the left in the picture is distracting. Second, the subject is centered. This works for some pictures, but here it makes it look the flower static, lifeless - probably not the result you wanted when photographing such a beautiful flower! Maybe try shooting from a different angle, let the viewer really feel the flower!
Technical:
This is good, but not great. The background is nicely blurred but a bit light. However, the stamens are also out of focus and the drops look to be out of focus as well. That is probably the single biggest reason for your low score.. people around here are sticklers for focus.
Overall:
Great idea and very pretty subject, but needs more technical work to make it really wow the viewer! Good luck in the future challenges!
