Lovely shot of the white house and the flag flying above it, good color of the sky, but I think the helecopter flying above it is just too high. Great photo though

I think the composition is fine and the photograph fit the Challenge okay.

It was a long depth of field with the length of the bridge and gives a good visual appeal with your dog prancing towards you like he’s doing.

You got a low angle in your photo that gives a different perspective to your photograph and shows that you have some imagination and creativeness in you.

The problem is that you seem to be out of focus on the decking and on the dog, what happened here? See the branches on the left? Perhaps moving in on your subject (dog) a little more would have taken them out of the photo altogether and allowed you to focus more on your dog.

Overall, you’ve got the makings of a good photograph but your finishing score of 4.8 tells you that you made some mistakes.

Correct them, go out, take more photos, clean them up, enter more Challenges, have yourself some fun, and let’s watch your score move up higher.

Regards,
Ed

Composition photo of the bridge is pretty good as is the depth of field.
It fit the Challenge just fine.

Your photograph is very busy with the walls of the cliffs surrounding the bridge and the trees overhanging it with all the tree limbs. It would perhaps have been better if you could have taken the shot a bit lower down to try and get away from so many distractions to take a look at the bridge from the other direction.

The visual interest of the bridge is brought alive by the whiteness and the strong lighting coming from above the tree levels.
Your focus is strong on the tree line in front but you start to lose the sharpness as one starts to look towards the bridge itself.

Your photograph shows good concept and inspiration and is really interesting to look at.

This is only your second piece that you’ve entered into the DP Challenge and I would encourage you to shoot more images and have some fun and enter more challenges in the coming weeks and months. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Sincerely,
Ed

Composition is splendid with a great depth of field.

The photograph does not really show a bridge per se, but in my humble opinion should still qualify for the Challenge.

The visual impact of your photograph is very good due to the overall Focus and Sharpness of the architecture and color of the various patterns that we are able to see. You’ve captured great detail of a bridge that we would not normally get to see. As I stop to really look at this photograph I suddenly saw that workman standing on the walkway halfway down the bridge.

The colours of your photograph are really noticeable, from the reds to the oranges to the grays to whites.

As I said before, the only thing I could find wrong was that your horizon was off by the tiniest bit but it’s pretty hard to carry a level around in our pocket when we go out to shoot photos.

Don’t worry about your score. This is only your first entry. Get out, shoot some more, enter some more Challenges, have some fun, shoot some more, that’s what life is all about.

Have Fun!
Ed

Composition in my opinion is splendid.

The photograph in this case certainly meets the Challenge and shows some originality and newness of thought on your behalf.

I’m going to get a bit negative right away. I don’t like your shadow in the picture.(is that you?) It distracts, and you shouldn’t be there! Now the trees - that’s a bit different, their a bit more acceptable, but you’re from the U.K., aren’t there a lot of bridges over there that you could have included as a reflection on the guitar?? And what are the two poles (?) beside you?

Visual impact has a great appeal, especially with the colors, beautiful bright Red, nice clean White, good focus and sharpness on the strings and the screws and the rest of the hardware.
The black background is also a nice choice.

I’m really sorry to see you score so low in this Challenge. All I can say is to keep it simple the next time and get rid of the distracting objects, which catch the voter’s eyes’. Hope this helps!
Hope to see more of your photographs next week, have fun at it,
Regards,
Ed

Composition was interesting and the use of the fisheye lens was an excellent idea for this photograph.

The visual appeal of the black and white (would also like to see this in color) image of the Archway, the Skyline, and the Clouds/Sky, is fantastic.

Focus is nice and sharp in the whole photograph, but especially on the Arch and Wires.

Photograph shows good imagination and creativeness.

The angle and lens that you used here to create this photograph was interesting and adds a dimension that I’ve never seen before in digital photography.

Finishing 13 out of 229 is not an easy thing to accomplish - Congratulations!
I hope to see more of your work in the weeks to come.

Ed

Greetings Vision,
Critique by Silver Fox.

When I first saw this, I assumed that it was supposed to be the number five, so when I saw your comments, I was glad that I was right for a change.

You show some good imagination and originality for this Challenge, but I’m not sure what to say about the composition as the Hand as you show it photographed seems a bit out of proportion.

You show good focus on the Palm of the hand but as one looks forward towards the end of your baby and ring fingers, they seem to go out of focus. Why? Because of your enlargement of the photograph? You also show excellent palmistry lineage from your sharp focus which shows good life and intuition lines.

IMO, Visual interest of your photograph is due to the angle that you shot it and to the blue color of your ring and the green grass beneath your hand.

All in all, I think you scored kind of low, but all I can say is keep shooting, have fun, and I look forward to seeing more of your work next Challenge!

Silver Fox

Composition is fine and a good photograph for the Bridges Challenge.

Visual interest is pretty good, and you have good focus. I especially like the reflections in the water of the bridge and trees.

Your photograph shows a nice wide angle of the bridge and scenery but you should have backed up a bit and included the other side of the bridge/or cropped a little less on the right hand side to include the right abutment.

The colour of your photograph is good for this time of year as there is not much color available on the trees or bushes yet, unless you want to do something with it on the computer. This would be a beautiful photograph to take in the fall.

Not a bad score or placement for your first Challenge Entry.

Keep up the good work, get out and keep shooting, look forward to seeing more of your shots in the coming weeks.

Regards,
Ed

You\'re supposed to shoot from ABOVE the tree, not from BELOW, so I don\'t think you\'re going to meet the Challenge.

Youre supposed to be photographing something from ABOVE, not from BELOW, so I don\'t think this is going to pass the challenge.
