The entire shot is out of focus. The only reason why I love this shot is because I was able to get such a uniformity of tones and colors, and I've succeeded in that goal.

Recently I've developed an ability to find uniformity of tone and color in my images. I am hoping to improve on that ability.

Your image here is definitely not low key. it is a "standard" photo, with equal lights and darks. I would call it more of a contrasty photo. A low key photo has almost all darks and very little lights.

As you can hopefully see, your image falls in between the two extremes.

You captured a great expression here, but I wish I could see both eyes. Next time, iron the sheet, or use a more uniform background for this type of shot.
