Yes you have a black and white object and meet the minimum requirement for the challenge. The placement of the 8 ball doesn't really make sense and the clutter in the background won't help the score of this image.

Comment:
This image has a black crayon and a white crayon but they are not featured. The mixture of colored crayons makes for a weak connection to the challenge topic.

I'm assuming that the beverage of choice is being made with Black and White. The fact that I had to assume that means this image doesn't fit the the challenge very well.

This meets the challenge but it is not a very interesting photo to look at. It also suffers from being out of focus.

I'm sure I'm not the first to tell you, a little too much black and not enough white. Hard to tell what is in the picture.

Those eyes really drew me to this photo. I would give this image a square crop and move the eyes to the rule of thirds. This would remove the plant at the right and the negative space at the bottom, while giving the eyes the stage they demand. Stunning post processing.

I agree with biteme, cropping the white area on the right would help this image IMHO. You might also want to remove some of the sky at the top to reduce the negative space. As is, the primary flower is almost center on the horizontal. Reducing the sky will move it to the top third on the vertical and help the composition.

Comment:
I didn't vote in the Lines II challenge because it was the first challenge I entered and I didn't want to look at my competition critically. I like the b&w conversion of this photo and the overall composition. I agree that this did not deserve the 1s & 2s you received but most entries don't. You might want to consider rotating this image 180 degrees to see if the change in perspective helps the image. As is, it looks like the paper is being pressed against the wall instead of grabbed off a table.

Although you aren't allowed to do the cloning you did here for a basic challenge, if you would have composed the shot this way originally, I would have given you a 5 or 6 instead of the 4 I gave your challenge photo. Nice PP on this image. I don't think it is over sharpened either.

You nailed the color on color challenge on the head. Bumped this into my top 10. Good luck.
