Depth of a Fieldby Reservoir DogComment: Back to comment: This image looks a bit out of focus. You may want to sharpen more after down sizing an image for a challenge. Most people use Unsharp Mask to bring back the sharpness lost because of down sizing. As for the composition of the image, the two dark blurs (cows I think - one in the foreground and one mid-image on the right) are really distracting and actully ruin what little interest this image has. The dried grass is not a very exciting subject to start with and the shallow depth of field does nothing to enhance it. Sorry if my comments come across as brutal but this image is not very good. |

Haloby FaithlessComment: Back to comment: I'm betting you are getting killed on this image, as it doesn't really meet the subject expectations most voters will have. The post processing work is very nice and the perpective is very interesting. |

Red Sky at Night Sailors' Delightby pixeldustComment: Back to comment: This image looks a bit out of focus. This could be from hand holding the camera during a long exposure or you may need to sharpen more after down sizing the image for a challenge. Most people use Unsharp Mask to bring back the sharpness lost because of down sizing. I would have cropped this image a bit tighter to get rid of the partial tree on the left edge and to remove the bright light on the right edge. |

Warm and Toasty Bunsby odiwanComment: Back to comment: Not what the voters will be looking for subject wise in this challenge. You did a pretty good job keeping detail in the fire but all in all, an uninteresting subject to look at. |

Peace Valley Parkby MRubilloComment: Back to comment: An uninteresting subject and awkward looking crop. The image could also use some more contrast and saturation to give it more depth. |

Focus on Natureby soccerrocker1989Comment: Back to comment: An interesting take on the challenge, shooting nature against an urban background. However, the lighting on the flowers is really not that good, as the flowers tend to blend into the background. Even if the flowers would have been shot during a different time a day with better light, the subject you choose still would not have scored very well at DPC for it is not all that interesting in itself. |

autumnby mkramarcComment: Back to comment: You found some nice fall colors to shoot; however, the subject matter is not very captivating to look at. The power lines and the dead tree up front distract from the appearance of the colors and are not pleasant to look at. This image also looks a bit out of focus. You may want to sharpen more after down sizing an image for a challenge. Most people use Unsharp Mask to bring back the sharpness lost because of down sizing. |

something diffrrentby zoranComment: This does not meet the challenge description, as it is not a landscape. As for the image itself, you may want to sharpen the image a bit more after down sizing for the challenge. . Most people use Unsharp Mask to bring back the sharpness lost because of down sizing. |

Russian Countrysideby avermaaComment: Back to comment: This image is much smaller than what is allowed for a challenge. The longest side of your image should be 640 pixels. When your image is this small, it is hard to see the details and judge the quality of the image. Because of that, many people will give a low vote and move on without really looking. I like the scene you choose but would have like to have seen all of the tree on the right side of the image to help balance the composition. |
