666247by mbrutus2009Comment: I like the play on the devil here with the 666 and the pitch fork. The lighting and muted color has an older cinematic look and feel to it. The fact that he's not looking directly at the camera reinforces that effect.
The stripes certainly meet the challenge. My only nit pick would be that there was room on the left of the frame to slightly shift the composition to get all of the pitch fork in the frame and still not feel crowded. Well done... 8 |

The Pillars (Minus 1)by DCNUTTERComment: Thanks Mark. I appreciate that. I have to admit that based on the scoring thread I thought I had a chance at top 10 at least, but it wasn't to be. It did finish up as my third highest image though so I'm very happy about that, and of course a 6+ image is always a good thing. I'll take the top 20 and I do consider this a success. Especially with all the nice comments! :)
BTW, the missing pillar and the open sign were also two of my main and favorite reasons for taking the shot. The irony was too good to pass up. |

Can I Come Too?by cowtownmomComment: I really like the B&W conversion on this shot Ellen. The nice contrast between the shadows and highlights fit this photo well, and give it a timeless feel. Nice choice, with a nice finish in the Free Study.
When I look at it the movie "True Grit" pops into my head. :)

Dormant Industryby TownleyComment: I love how the vines create different shapes and most of all how it outlines the door way. |

Edge of the poornessby denisprayComment: I really liked the contrast in color and textures of this image along with the simplicity and uncluttered composition. Well done.
