Nice monument and I like the framing. The background blows out the photo though.

I would have liked this more if the action was INTO the frame rather than out of the frame. Still, I like the angle you've shot this at. You had a very good idea and executed it well.

I like the light at the time of day at which you made this picture. The evening light, being low, helps to provide modeling to the buildings making them stand out. I would like to see the horizon appear straighter and either lower or higher in the composition rather than so close to the center. (As an aside, there seems to be a white spot in the sky which does not appear to be a cloud --- upper right side. I know ... no spot editing ... but you might want to blow out the interior of your D100. I do it almost every time I change lenses.) The evening light also gave you a lower contrast range overall and helped you capture detail in most of the shadowed areas along with the brighter areas. That's always nice to see.

Without the title, there is no indication of the appropriateness to the challenge although one could surmise that you must have been inside SOMETHING and you were obviously looking out. Although I don't think it affected how I scored your picture, it just isn't as obvious as some of the others in the challenge.

Ok, you may be getting old ... but you're in good company! I would change only two things about this photo -- 1. I would like a slight bit more light in the eyes to generate catchlights, and 2. I would like to eliminate the reflections on the glasses. Other than that, you've done a superior job!

Not only is the facial lighting very good, the body shadow adds a lot to this. Very nice job!

How could I rate one different from the other? They both got the same from me. These two are both beautifully done, loving portraits of each of you! I loved the execution ... both pictures have excellent detail, focus, and DOF. (Yep, it's even the same comment!)
