Great emotion in those eyes and her posture. They match the title perfectly.

And the strong contrast between her nose and her face, and then between her head and the background, lend an air of mystery, as if she's seeing you in a deep alley.

With such a strong frame like this, I always look for something to be framed. But there isn't anything being framed.

It's a tough situation at this angle.

This must be an emotional connection for you, and I appreciate your sharing it with us here. I think, though, that there might have been other ways to more strongly connect the viewer with that emotion.

First, the narrow DOF winds up drawing my eye to the very sharp texture in the cloth instead of onto the hair.

Second, the hair's placement doesn't emotionally grab me. As opposed to it being placed at the edge of a picture of her (sister? mother?). Or on a stand in the foreground, with someone in the background (blurred out), looking out a window. There are a million ideas like that, but those are some examples.

With razor sharp focus on the flower and bee, this would have really stood out. I don't mean tiny DOF; I mean both in focus. Unfortunately, since neither is in focus, it comes across as a near-miss macro shot.

The tall crop pulled my eye into the dark area in the middle, esp. with the lighter part at the top. Wonder what it'd look like with that part cropped out?

This might work in the color-on-color challenge. Here, it doesn't strike me as too compelling.

Yep. They're gold colored. But the angle isn't especially interesting.

Try going up close, shooting from the floor up at a diagonal, looking past the edge of one door toward the outside, etc.

Don't know what this is, but I like the abstractness and contrasts! Beer?

Well done! The lines on both sides sweep my eye up to your subject.
