I'm giving this one a 7, as I loved the movement and colors in the sky, and because of the clarity in the water left after the waves went back out. I loved the clarity and moistness of the stones in the foreground. I am not so crazy about the forced feeling of the white streaks just behind the stones, or I'd have rated this higher. Overall, you met the challenge with great creativity and technical merit. |

I love the light-hearted humor in this, the remebrance of childhood that it inflicts, and it's originality in light of the challenge's theme. I can remember my brother bringing his toy soldiers to the beach with him and setting them up, which is why this meets the challenge in my eyes. I'm giving you an 8 for this one. It's not the most beautiful of shots in this challenge, but you deserve a score for meeting the challenge, and for the entertainment factor that this one gave me. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 07/25/2006 11:55:36 AM | Shells & Pebblesby susanhComment: Great job! Very crisp and clear, great color! I feel as though the swirl has movement, and is almost an optical illusion. I love the smoothness of the stones and the wet feeling of the sand and stones. I am giving this a 9, because it meets the challenge head on in my opinion of what it's all about, but it's not my favorite out of all the entries, so it's not a 10. It's right up there though! | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 07/25/2006 11:53:55 AM | Boat on the Beachby jerseyjimComment: Great job! I found this to be one of my favorites in this challenge because I feel part of the setting, I love the sky, the colors in it are just gorgeous. I love the subtle-ness of the water, being a minor part of the whole scene, but works so beautifully. I love the movement in the sand, it's as though a million feet have danced on that beach. And I love the solitude that is created by the boat and single palm tree. I gave this a 9, because it met the challenge 100% in what my idea of a beach shot should be. I'd give you a 10, but it wasn't my favorite out of all of the shots. |

Loved the sky and the perspective and angle of the anchor. I feel like if I stepped onto that sand, it would melt away beneath my feet. I gave you a 9. |

The clarity in the water, the perspective, the colors, the illusion of distance, the movement of the water, the grandeur of the sky, the rays of light. It all works together and makes this one of my top 3 in this challenge. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
