Can't tell if it's a kite or a hang glider. Either way, for me there's not enough action and motion to be an engaging sports shot. It is, however, a nice sky photograph.

Kite Racing

Having just kites against sky isn't a very engaging image for me. Choosing an angle where both the kites and the people flying them were in view (such as when the kites are just going up so they're still near enough to see well) might have been more visually interesting. Nice color, though, and I like the slight motion blur.

would have been better if the sky were clearer (which, granted, you couldn't really help). Bringing out more blue and/or green in the water would have been an improvement too

I really like this. It's a shame it didn't score better (though I'm not surprised dpc voters didn't like it). I love the black and white, the dof, and the grain. Very old-school.
