I used to have one of those ugly little things. Quite the escape artist he was. Finally found his dried up little body on the floor one day. Very good crisp clear capture here from what I would believe is a fairly low light enviroment. Good Score!

WOW! Awseome landscape (and this is coming from a guy that hates landscapes). I really love the step pattern you've captured here and the fog framing it is just beautiful. 10!

::: Greetings from Critique Club :::

Hi, as requested, here is an indepth critique of your submission.

First Impression - the most important one:
I don't wanna sound harsh, but simply put, you did not meet the challenge. It specifically called for people.

Composition:
Rather nice. The one bird on top of the pole is in a very strong area of the photo.

Subject:
Subject is clear.

Technical (Colour, focus, and light):
Focus is a bit soft, but this may be from post process or noise rather than missing the focus in camera.
Colour seems ok, a bit flat for my taste. I think this image would work well in B&W
Light is pretty good, exposure went well for you on this one.

To grow its vote?:
Pay more attention to the challenge guidelines, voters do.

Summary:
Lovely image, I like it a lot. But, in another challenge.

Hope to see more from you soon,
Leroy

Hi, as requested, here is an indepth critique of your submission.

First Impression - the most important one:
One of my favorite images in this challenge. Quite frankly, I expected a higher score from it.

Composition:
Love it, nice use of negative space fill with streaks of color.

Subject:
Subject is strong and contrasts well against the blurred streaks of other is the background and by the use of lighting on the gril. Great use of shutter speed.

Technical (Colour, focus, and light):
Technicals are good. Focus is sharp on your subject, color is very strong and lighting is wonderful.

To grow its vote?:
Beg, plead, cheat, steel? I honestly can't see why it didn't score higher. Perhaps the voters were looking for bigger crowds with the feel of some of the "famous" street photogs.

Summary:
Awesome work, I'm in love with this photo.

Hope to see more from you soon,
Leroy

Hi, as requested, here is an indepth critique of your submission.

First Impression - the most important one:
While this is technically a good photography and looks really charming, I feel that it is a bit tight to feel candid.

Composition:
Composition here is ok for a quick candid portrait, but zooming out and moving your subject more the the right of the image would have created a much stronger composition.

Subject:
Subject is clear and well defined.

Technical (Colour, focus, and light):
All your technicals are good. Colour is nice and warm. Focus is sharp (love the diffusuion BTW) and you've used light well here.

To grow its vote?:
I feel the voters wanted to see a bigger crowd for this challenge, at least that's what the results kind of show.

Summary:
Good image, great capture of this girl and really good post-process.

Hope to see more from you soon,
Leroy

Hi, as requested, here is an indepth critique of your submission.

First Impression - the most important one:
Very nice capture, well executed and fits the challenge well. Also, good B&W conversion.

Composition:
Composition is strong, uses the rule of thirds quite well.

Subject:
Subject is clear and well defined, but perhaps your title doesn't nail the subject in the same way as I see it. I see it more as the man looking straight ahead at what's in his path, while the kid is free to wander. Just my take.

Technical (Colour, focus, and light):
All your techincals are good. Focus is sharp. Exposure is dead-on. Good B&W treatment.

To grow its vote?:
On this challenge, I think the voters were expecting a bigger crowd. That's how I see they voted, but a 5.8 is a respectable score.

Summary:
Keep up this good work. You definitely know how to work your camera in public places now.

Hope to see more from you soon,
Leroy
