But you got 8 x 2, 5 x 3 and 15 x 4 Voters for the "tsk tsk OMG it's a Gun who gives a ---- for the photography" crowd :(
PS: You left out a description of the most important prop ;) Looks like a DA 9mm but which one, there are thousands. Either that or its a MIC Toy. |
Actually, that is a Ruger .40S&W, the P91DC, to be precise. Not only is it my favorite, its the most accurate I own. Just to clarify. =D |
LOL... and that's the final answer :) |

Let me introduce myself. My name is Leroy Dickson, I'm a professional photographer, specializing in glamour, fashion and nude photography. But, I enjoy all forms of photography and appreciate the artistic efforts of all.
First Impression:
Nice composition. A good shot of a beautiful Cathedral.
Technicals:
I feel the image is a tad over-exposed, leaving the photo a bit flat. Seeing the shadows are coming straight down, Idefinitely think it could have been better shot at a different time of day.
Artistic:
Composition is ok. I will second my opinion on being a better shot in better light.
How to grow its vote:
It really doesn't have much Wow to it. It's a great tourist photo, but doesn't quite have the umph needed to get top votes here. Some may have also seen it as not fitting the challenge.
In closing:
Looking at the rest of your work, I'd definitely love to see a processed version of this image. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

First Impression:
A stunning, well-executed image of the Sn Fran bay. It's a very nice image, worthy of a good stock photo portfolio.
Technicals:
Technically the image is good, from exposure to focus. I don't see any glaring errors.
Artistic:
Compositionally, the photo is kind of weak. Only the top horizon placed on the third line draws my eye. Moving the horizon down to the bottom third and including more sky may have been a stronger composition.
How to grow its vote:
Ehhh... as you may know, DPC is all about the "Wow Factor". Although this is a nice image, there's nothing to make the viewer say wow, look at that... or how'd they do that.
In closing:
I like the image. I personally think it should have placed higher, but I'm not the majority of the voters on the site. However, I encourage you to keep up the good work and I really enjoyed reviewing your image. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

First Impression:
It's a nice image of the quality I'd expect to see in a child's book on animals. It's well executed and pleasing to the eye.
Technicals:
When I first pulled up the image, I noticed that it was just a bit over-exposed. Not only does this make the image a bit brighter than I'd expect but also robs the color of its vibrance and saturation. If this had not been a min. ed. challenge, these could have been easily corrected in post. But, since it was limited to "out of the camera", exposure has to be dead-on.
Otherwise the image is technically sound with nice focus and DoF.
Artistic:
It's pleasing with a nice composition, can't say I'd change a thing.
How to grow its vote:
DPC is big on the "Wow Factor" as you may know. Here, we often take for granted a photo that is pleasant to view. Had you shot the animal from a wierd point of view with a wide angle lens, voters probably would have gone nuts over it. However, IMO, the image would have been a less usable image for you.
In closing:
Nice image and a very good image for a stock photo portfolio. Definitely keep up the good work. |

First Impression: What can I say, star trail images are beautiful. With all our modern technology, contemporary society often neglects the beauty above our heads. When we see a well-executed photo like this, we are sent back to a time when we depended on the stars for many aspects of our existence.
Technicals:
I can't say there is anything I'd change about this image. It's technically sound straight from the camera. A very well-executed image.
Artistically:
I enjoy your composition and use of framing devices. Although, some of the lights on the horizon are a bit distracting.
How to grow it's vote:
I can't say I can give you any ideas on that. It's well executed, fits the challenge. Has a bit of "wow factor", the rest is up to the voters.
In closing, I really enjoyed your photo and am glad it was put in front of me to critique. Keep up the good work. |
