Harbor Sunriseby Bear_MusicComment: One of my absolute favorite images in this challenge. Very tough to do good low-key in images with so much color. It has more detail in the highlights than most low key images but the dark detail of the boats is incredible! Wonderful technical achievement and flat out nice sunset imagery. |

Low budget affair = Low Keyby cliff_wrightComment: Tough to do a minimalist image with alot of dark tones but you did a credible job with this composition. Some viewers may find the reflection on the left to be distracting because it is not immediately obvious what it is. |

Elegance by peeceeComment: This makes a good study in low-key still life imagery. I like the tones and lighting angle. There is a slight bit of haloing around the pollen and the leftmost petal lacks detail, but this is basic rules and you cannot do much about it. I recommend you correct those should you chose to make a print. Great picture that should place very high. |

Lost in thoughtby DirtypainterComment: This one has more highlight detail than some voters will think low-key should have and they may vote it lower as DNMC. It would be to bad if that happens. It is a technically great picture with perfect skin tonality, a great pose and wonderful lighting. Wow. Hats off to you! |

Le Passageby vroyComment: Don't normally think of sepia as a media for low-key but you have done a great job with this one. Making your model partially transclucent works particularly well and adds a lot of interest to the composition. The reddish color cast on the light behind the model is a distraction but that can be dealt with. Kudos to you on a fine image. |

Bench Sitting: One of Life´s Finer Comfortsby gsalComment: Sometimes you see an image and get an immediate and lasting impression from it. Perhaps it is because it is so unexpected, or maybe it is because it makes real life seem surrealistic. This image does that and more. It conjures up all sorts of questions: Why is the woman seated that way? What is she thinking? Why is she the only one there and what does that mean?
The muted colors and dark tones are great. I'd suggest improvments but can't think of any. This is a fabulous image and should place very high in the challenge. |

A Face In The Bitter Coldby TDCollinsComment: If tonality in the shadows and nowhere above the midtones is used to define low-key then this image is the perfect color low-key picture. The detail is phenomenal and the image is well composed/framed. Technically, it is top notch. Hope there isn't a color bias in voting and this image gets the ribbon it justly deserves. |

YKKby genghisComment: Great tonality in the shadows, very nicely composed and allows the viewer to speculate at the meaning of being partilly unzipped. This makes an good choice for low-key given all the fine detail in the shadows. This should be a ribbon winner. |

Beast Withinby jsolsonaComment: A classic male style for low-key. Excellent tones, great expression to match this style. This will be one of the higest placing images, definite top three ribbon potential. You have tad bit more mid-tones than some but this is good capture that is nicely composed. |
