Tapsby SCI 009Comment: Good concept and great angles on the tombstones. Black and white is a good choice for this image. It might be even better if you increased the contrast in the image and gave it a true black point. Unfortunately the detail between the stones seems mottled and a little distracting to the overall image. |

Imagination Takes Overby popdeepopComment: Nice dark image. Good focus and cloud detail. There may be too muchh dark at the bottom of the frame and perhaps you should crop an inch or so from the composition. This is an excellent image. |

Left Aloneby michelle232Comment: A very interesting abstract image. Looks like it was taken through mottled, plastic shower door "glass". The color and lighting are generally appealing. There will be voters that don't "get it" and vote low.
Technically the flaw that holds this images back is the many overexposed areas on the palm of the hands. Darken those up with some gingerly burning would help, but you will have to be very careful not to overdo it. |

Music Darknessby NunoComment: For the most part this is a beautifully done image. The expression of the singer and the darkness of the place is OK, but the green mist highlighting the silhouette is terrific.
The disturbing part of the image is the exceptionally noisy looking bacground items surrounding the noiseless smoke. It is so grainy that it actually is distracting to the image. The wall on the left side of the image with the running wires adds little to the composition and you might consider cropping it out of th framing just right of the rightmost wire. The candle seems out of place because it does not seem it could privide the illuminating light for the green smoke and draws the viewer's eye away from the singer. There is some slight haloing around the singer but it is not terribly bad.
Despite these defects this is an excellent picture that has mood and instant eye appeal. |

Matchby dmauerComment: This image has nice colors. Blue particularly is a good color to use in DPC submissions. General technical quality is good.
Abstract images like this tend to be obscure to voters and this image will suffer in the scoring department because of it. |

looking at the moonby agfotoComment: Good concept and the wispy clouds are nice. It would be even better if there could be dimly lighted low mountains and a horizon to go with it. You might be tempted to artificially darken the bright crescent to keep it from being too overwhelming. The idea of this image is great. |

Darkness is an opportunity to explore Lightby virtualmeComment: This is the type of image that means a lot more to the photographer at the time they take it or while working on it in post processing than it is to the casual viewer. Green is an intersting color in this composition but the abstract nature of the image may be to obscure for most voters to "get it". Technically it is not bad but its score will suffer anyway. |

Lights Outby geoffreyskuntzComment: Certainly there are a lot of voters that will score this low because it is "not dark enough". Hoever this is really a nicely done image and better than most. Yopu angle and the diagonals of the supports make for an interesting composition.
The top of the lampshade is overexposed but that could be corrected with dodging. The angle of the light itself is such that it should either be straighted to make it horizontal or angled more to give it more interesting lines. |

Wake up people.by emeelComment: Ther is so much potential in this sunset. Color, lighting, and the curves of the inlet are all spectacular. However, this image will score lower because of very poor focus and to a lesser degree that the brightness of the horizon was not toned down in post processing. |

the answer for the challengeby hossamComment: Repetition in a photograph gives an image lines that are appealing for the human eye to follow. The reflection in the perfectly still water is great. This image might have been even better if taken further to the left to add a diagonal appearance to the lines and reflection. Decent job, though, as it is.
