Reproductionby wisieComment: Are those "love bugs" as they are known locally - I remembering hitting many many of them on a drive from New Orleans to Texas! Nice shot |

Disectionby msdoubletroubleComment: Wow looks like you had perfect access to a perfect setting but I feel the foreground items and half microscope distract too much rather than set the scene. Nice lighting. |

TERR-SEYMOUR-DPC-001.jpgby jblaylockraynerComment: Hi Ben,
Thanks for the comments - As usual I kept the lighting as simple as can be, because to be honest i am not that great at lighting - I am actually going on a weekend lighting course this year as i want to learn some more techniques. Any way I always meter for the background first and then set my light accordingly - I often try and put my subject in the shade to avoid hot spots from the sun. For this shot a softbox was placed just to the right of her - If you look closely at the sand you can see we just had enough shade to cover her totally but it was rising very quickly. I never have any help on these shoots - No assistants or anything so it's always a bit of a mad dash.
Cheers

Noraby mia67Comment: Normally I do not like soft focus pix so much but I think this one works well - I like the tight crop and the lighting is nice and soft. If there is just one thing that I could change it would be the brightness of the area around her nose - Just distracts a little. Very nice picture though and again I like the crop.

I love visiting your portfolio, its always a treat |
Thanks for the comments Rae Ann - This picture did sell quite well! Front page or page one of most of the US magazine tabloids! |
