The Age of Woody Enlightenmentby raishComment: The Age of Enlightenment was the period during which the philosophy behind the American (and French) revolution and constitution emerged, as well as the practice and principles of scientific method. Wikipedia.
I thought, though I may have been wrong, that typical art of the period had dark backgrounds and showed people doing things that demonstrated the progress of their time. Hence the darker tones. An example. And yet another example.Message edited by author 2008-08-21 16:04:36. |

Landscape Photographers' Breakby raishComment: Well, at least we don't have to ask SC about the official brown because we dole them out ourselves. Freedom's just another word...
But hey, landscape: Still - Focus - Depth of field - Minimal evidence of human/urban influence.
My entry in the Anything but Landscape challenge: Dynamic - Blurred - Dubious focus - A corner of central station in glorious isolation from Nature. Heh...
I personally feel there may be a circle of Hell reserved for people who insist on calling photography 'art'. Even so, down here... |

_DSC0051.jpgby YomiComment: dof is typically smaller at closer distances - doesn't have anything directly to do with the camera ... but ... you can jack the D700 up to some pretty high ISO, which would enable you to use narrower apertures ...
The rule is that you get nothing for nothing, and I may be thinking D3 when I talk about high ISO without too much noise, but suck it and see, as you have the camera you lucky bastard :-) |
