Well thought out, and in my opinion quite well executed.

The Age of Enlightenment was the period during which the philosophy behind the American (and French) revolution and constitution emerged, as well as the practice and principles of scientific method. Wikipedia.

I thought, though I may have been wrong, that typical art of the period had dark backgrounds and showed people doing things that demonstrated the progress of their time. Hence the darker tones. An example. And yet another example.

Personally I would have liked a little more light in the scene but I do love the softness of the tools in the background and the border is nice

Good set up and concept, but the lighting is under-exposed. The flash(?) doesn't seem to have helped much and has left glare on the metal. Maybe diffusion/bounce would have eased those issues?

Interesting and well lit. Not quite sure I get what they're being enlightened about (that you can carve wood in other shapes? wood as art?) but nice shot.
