The lighting is working well for a bauble which itself is ghastly (that's just my taste or opinion, but it affects my judgement). Between the 2 and the 8 you get a 5 :)

Golden Crown

Very nice shot, but over-composed to my eye. The crown is too important to be so far up in the corner. I think if you want to use the 'rule of thirds', then you should apply it to the crown alone, as the head and neck are secondary elements in the composition.
If that sounds like I'm blowing hot air, then that's probably what it is :-)

Terrific idea. I think it needs some colour contrast somewhere, or maybe another boldly structured element in the composition. Right now it's too close to 'just another' piece of jewellery on velvet. One to work on?
