Individualityby purpleflutterby13Comment: Brilliant backlighting on the flower petals, and I like your layout of the flower itself. It almost looks like flower on fire, which should have given it away as one of your shots. The font looks a little cluttered though; maybe an all caps "INDIVIDUALITY" and a simpler script font for the quote would have bumped this into the top 20. |

Vesnaby purpleflutterby13Comment: The pose looks relaxed and natural, which is easier to do with a surprise telephoto shot. The sunlight looks a little harsh on her though. The color is nice, but some of the "left" parts of her face look just a little washed out. Maybe it's just the contrast with the much darker background. |

Groton Shorelineby brownsmComment: When I line up the picture with a scrollbar or something, I can see the horizon is straight, but it looks like it's tilted to the left. I really like how you got the star flares from the lights, and the bit of reflection in the water. This probably would have done very well in the Urban challenge. |

south, looking westby taseComment: Wow, you got robbed on this one. Landscapes can be done in macro, like what you have here. I gave this a 9. |

Why there are traffic jamsby okiesisiComment: This shot doesn't give me the sense of "landscape," either on the normal or macro level. It's a good quick capture, given your conditions. There seems to be more of the scene to the right, and including it might have given more of a story to the flipped minivan. The people are backlit, so you kinda lose on getting good detail in their faces, and your camera bumped up the exposure to get the scene but by doing so it let the sky get overexposed. |
