Excellent subject, not sure about the negative space at the top. It does convey weight and gravity. Maybe this coin is the symbol of a crappy economy, bringing down a country!

I like the subject, nice use of centered composition. Too much negative space in the top of the image IMO. Touch more DOF for the screw would make it more compelling.

Old Phonograph Needle

Favorite so far. I love the tones. Maybe just a bit more highlight at the needle tip, compared to the top, to draw attention first (based on your title). The top of the image gets first glance. Some kind of "photoshop" artifact around the proximal needle as well as the base of the player (unbelievable DOF, lens blur mask gone awry?). 8 but would be a 10 if the PSing was "invisible".

I lovel bark/tree shots. Better IMO if the "eyes" were in focus. The DOF draws me right to the crack in the middle of the shot.
