Something about the composition seems a bit off. Maybe with the flame in the location it is in, there is more attention drawn to it - but with the brightness of the flame I think anywhere it is positioned would have worked. I don't know what type of composition I would prefer.. it just seems off. If I could put my finger on it I might mark down for it but as it stands now I will not. There is haloing around the glass and bottle and while not immediately obvious, it is noticable.

I like the colors - no, I adore the colors. I also love how the flame seems to be coming from the glass as well as the bottle. The lighting is good too, and while some people might not prefer the flash reflection on the bottle I think it adds a nice touch.

Beautiful shot. I do not personally feel like it meets the challenge. However, if there is a "right" way to get a DNMC, this would be it. It is hard to put into different words what I mean, but I feel like while this photo fails to meet the challenge, it fails with grace - with thought to the challenge and not a blatent defiance of it. I am marking you down but not as much as I otherwise would because I do see where you put thought into the shot. Again, this is a beautiful photo - and one you should be very proud of.

Oooooh. Very captivating shot. While the background is a bit distracting, it also gives a real-life feel to the photo, which is furthered by the period cloting. Composition is great - I like how there is the smaller fire in the middle. I also I love how the flames are visible starting from their faces - I feel like this is a shot that could have taken so many tries to get right, because this looks like it was done right.

This is beautiful. I have always liked the way that matches have the second flame that "drips down" from below (the flame that starts to the left on your image). I like how you captured this, as well as the match in mid-burn (some charred portion and some non-charred portion visible). I like how the match head fades into the background, and how there are such fine details visible on the match. What I love most of all is the magenta and blue colors that are visible at the bottom. Truly a wonderful and uncommon image of a common subject.

My main suggestion would be to have the cigarete glowing red to increase the appearance of "fire". The thing I like most is the trail of smoke rising upwards.

Seems like a very creative concept! Composition seems off but I cannot figure out where more or less negative space is needed (not marking off for this).

Overall I think this is a nice shot - nothing overly impressive, but still a solid entry. The shape might be better maintained without the flame in the background, but that's really nitpicky. (Maybe this is what your title refers to?)

I like how most of the shot is muted which brings more attention to the flames; the muted colors, while not drawing too much attention to themselves, still are very beautiful and go together very nicely. The model looks dramatic but not too staged, and many times that balance is hard to achieve. I also like how the sun is streaming through the clouds next to the hand. The minimal border puts the finishing touch on this fantastic image.

I think your title is short for "... ow"

Overall a very mysterious shot with appealing colors.

Hmmm.... I think I like the grain, because it draws a lot of focus to the lighter parts that are not as visibilly grainy. I like the composition as well.
