Normally I find the backgrounds of photos like this to be distracting from the images in the water, but here the background really adds very positively to the image as a whole. I also like the colors and the composition.

It's quite a lovely image, but my eyes go a bit crazy looking at it. I think the big black stripes don't help, because they just, to me, emphasize the "up and down a lot"-ness of the photo as being.. maybe out of place or wrong somehow? Instead of letting me view the "up and down" nature for what it is. I hope this makes sense! Anyway, it's a really great image - I absolutely love the colors, and the uniqueness of the trees.
