l'amourierby rubienneComment: I really like this shot. The softness works great and the lighting is perfect. Very nice composition and very well done. A shame this wasnt a challenge entry. |

I gavethis shot a 5. It met the challenge but probably not in the way people were expecting - more room would have helped. The setup is fine and the detail on thelion is good. The colors seem a bit flat or boring and the picture overall didnt grab my attention. I think that is what kept me from voting it higher. |

Overll a good capture. I have never tried taking bug shots so I have no clue what its like but I would think that these kind of shots can be tough. I think you got a pretty good shot considering the really high ISO setting. Good focus and detail on the bug. Not too much distracting noise going on. The colors are a bit oversaturated in my opinion. Like several of us inthe trading group - if this were advanced editing I think we all would have done much better. This fit the challenge but the colors are just a bit too much overprocessed. Congrats though on getting a top 3 profile pic. It is always nice to see a new pic in your highest rated profile. Keep it up. |

I will start with the fact that I prefer this much better than your original. I like that there is alot of different stuff to see as you look over this shot - the branches up top, the reflection, the trees under the arches. A much more pleasant picture overall. Maybe a tad soft as a whole but you can see a wonderful array of textures throughout. The bright white spot on the right i nthe gap on the bridge is a shame as it is a bit distracting. The pieces of tree in the others work well to soften those areas. I do like the postprocessingf on this. It gives it a funky feel but the light greens may be a bit too yellow from these actions (I dont have actions that I know of on Elements so I am jealous). Good shot and great improvement. |
