shapes and sizesby DanSigComment: Trading Post - this shot while technically well done just didnt grab me after that. The combinations of the lenses and vases just left me thinkning "huh?". But again - the technical aspects are very good - good colors, sharpness, lighting. |

Corner postsby MelethiaComment: Trading post - The posts surely arent moving now - but who knows when that storm comes through. Easily met the challenge and the contrast between the posts andthe sky is nice. But my eyes are really drawn to the clouds. They are the focal point for me - and they are cool. Would be nice to see another version of this with a nice blue sky with poofy clouds. Good focus and detasil through out and the lighting onthe foregournd is really quite good considering the sky in the background. Top 50 out of almost 300 is great. Good work Deb. |

Three generationsby MelethiaComment: Trading post - Darned cat (I should know - I have three of em). Good comp on this shot. Th e three stages offer good interest. The main flower seems a bit soft - wish it was sharp through out the whole bud. A bit more saturation may have also allowed all three to stand out a bit stronger against the white background. Seems a bit light overall. I think you have a great idea and basic setup here, a couple of tweaks could have made this image stand out even more. |

Joe's Fruit and Vegetablesby MelethiaComment: Trading Post - Cool angle, great colors, good sharpness and an overall intersting model. Would like to see this postprocessed with the colors of the truck slightly exagerated. Good job. |

Marching Alternatesby nards656Comment: Trading POst -
Now how am I gonna knock a shot that used q-tips. Not sure what you were talking about with the greenish feel. The colors are good, overall focus is good. Great basis to continue on in pp. Technically I think the shot is well done - very well considering there is no pp. Good framing of your models and all. The interest factor is a bit low though IMO, and I think that mayeb a different color background could have helped them pop a bit more. |

Brainby KronusComment: I really like the angles that you have used in some of the shots of your kids. I will have to play with that. TY for the inspiration. |

But Watch Out for Big Airplanes!by ArtifactsComment: I have never seen this shot before. I joined a couple of months late to have seen this challenge. This is hilarious. Great colors and sharpness on both your subjects. Great gradient color in the sky. And the title just seals the deal. Great shot. |

spiral slideby RikkiComment: Congrats on your top 10 Rikki. It has only happened a couple of times but I am always honored to be on the same page as one of your shots. And always a pleasure to banter in the threads. Lets do it again real soon. :) |

Blackeyeby LouisComment: Hey Louis - I was one of your 8s on this shot. The lighting and feel set this apart from many of the regular flower shots. Nice subtle curve on the stem, the table offers good contrast in color to the rest of the shot and the curve that is made in the bottom of the vase is quite nice. And I dont miss the greens of the leaves at all. The darkness and lack of detail in them allow for a smooth picture with the focus pulling up towards the head of the flower. Great shot, good placing and a bit of a shame that it didnt score a bit higher. |
