off and runningby cybermayberryComment: Greetings from the Critique Club -
Easily meets the challenge here with this colorful image. The colors are vibrant, the motion blur works well, especially with the action of the horses head being pretty still and in focus. That has a good feel. It would have been nice to have the rider a bit more in focus, but shooting at 1/40 I think you did real well.
Composition wise it might be a bit lacking. Centered image with not much else around keeps it fairly simple and straightforward. Not sure what it needs but it fells like it needs something.
Overall a nice image that comes with a 6+ score. Can't complain about that. And there isnt really much that I can offer as improvements. Nice work.

Silly Sammy Slick sipped 6 sodas and got sick sick sickby pipsqueakComment: Greetings from the Critique Club -
Hello again. And congrats on another 6+ score. Well done!
Good image here. Very good focus on Sammy and the DOF works well. You laid out the jars just fine. Maybe taken a bit higher to allow Sammys full face to show, but this pose will do.
I think the one thing that would have allowed your image to score even higher would to have been to make the hue shift only on Sammy and not on the whole image. A complimenting color (not sure what compliments puke yellow ;)) could have made this stand out abit better. The backgournd color is just too similar to his skin tones. A bright and more vivid color I think would have allowed your image to pop even more and really isolate Sammy well.
But thats about it. You took a nice shot, edieted it well overall and the voters rewarded you witha 6+ score. Keep that up and you will see your top rated images all change in the very near future. Well done and good luck in future entries!

Green eggs and ham! Yummy!by snafflesComment: Greetings from the Critique Club -
Hey Susan. You surely met the challenge criteria with this shot. But overall its not an appealing image. Granted I am not really sure how I would go about making an image of green eggs and ham appealing in the first place myself.
Looks like you have some slight noise issus going on with your background. Most likely from the hue shift. I struggle at times trying to change the hue of my images without getting some sort of noise into the image. And I know that its all supposed to be green, but it might be a bit too flourescent. I cant believe I am saying your eggs are too green. ;)
Your presentation of the plate could have been better had you been a bitmore on top of the plate. I think that if you had caught the shot with the eggs more prevalent and visible rather than from this side position your overall composition may have been better. And maybe not so tight as crop to get the whole plate in.
Your focus and sharpness look good. I like the fork sticking out. What kind of lightbox are you using?
Again - its tough to make subject matter like this look pretty. Hang in there and keep shooting. I look forward to seeing your future entries. Good luck!
Tim
