The general colors are pleasing, but the abstract nature of it isn't. Its a bit on the dark side with no real flowing or purposeful composition. It just feels like a jumbled mess. I think its very possible that your third outatke would have scored better as its a generally cleaner image with more distinct shapes.

I gave this a 6 in voting. The orange cast bothered me and there seemed to be some odd texture as the focus drops off. Pleasing comp, nice gaze and nice smile. Not a DPC WOW image but not a stinker either.

This image looks great in thumb. But when I open it it doesnt have the same impact for me. Love the colors and the general composition, but the processing is a bit too heavy handed IMO. The general techniques are good but just too heavy. I would like to see the effect on the scarf toned down a bit. I think the processing took too much away from the texture. Her gaze is wonderful.

Very nice. The angle of the trees gives a slightly odd feel to it, but then thats the DPC in me talking. Great expressions, nice background to be working with. Kids are spitting images of their parents.

I remember thinking pretty much this in voting - "Cute shot, wish the dog was really in focus... it's the feet, the feet are cool, stepping up just a bit, thats just cool."

Now had it been a cat instead of a dog with those feet in the background - 10!
