Through a window at Prudential Towersby SnopawComment: The photograph definitely has potential, but unfortunately, the image dimensions should be larger in order to appreciate (and vote for) it. I'm abstaining from voting on this image so as to not adversely affect your average score. |

Nine on the Line- Clothespin by Jaded_HousewifeComment: Although I didn't vote (I don't vote on challenges in which I am entered), this was one that really caught my eye. Welcome back, Crystal!
p.s. What lens and aperture did you use for this capture?

Energy of Painby PhotologistComment: Thanks everyone for your (good and not-so-good) comments!
Specifically,
@bassbone, @vlado:
Here is another version of the same image, with a little of the oversharpening removed around the lifeguard stand. It's difficult, at best, to remove all the sharpening artifacts when tone-mapping to that extreme.
@kivgaen:
It was relatively dark that evening. Have you calibrated your monitor? ;-)
@LadyK:
Yours was a unique comment. Everyone that thought it was overprocessed didn't seem to like it. You said it was overprocessed, but liked it! Thanks!

IMG_0344s.jpgby airdanceComment: Since you asked for a critique, I have to first ask, "what did you envision as the subject?". It's a bit of a rhetorical question since it is obvisously the bee. Nevertheless, the flower does jump out at the viewer, taking the attention off the bee somewhat. How about a tighter crop (or capturing a closer image), which isoloates the bee while putting it in a "rule of thirds" layout? Maybe something like this (but larger). |

Determination by peterComment: Great details! Nevertheless, The top and bottom borders take away from the image, IMO. (6) |
