Fleowersby AntithesisComment: Critique Club
Meets the challenge: Very well, pets are definitely a cliche.
Composition: I do not care for the cat looking out to the left. I think the flowers would have worked if the cat was facing them, and they and the plant add some additional warmth and hominess to the shot. I take pics of my cats (3) a lot and know how difficult it is to get a well-posed shot.
Technical Quality: I would have preferred the light to be on the cat's face rather than the flowers and the cat's neck and forechest. Also, a better depth of field (7-8)would have enabled the cat's face to be in focus, or to focus in on the face and let the flowers etc be out of focus, since they are add-ons to the main subject, although then you would be dealing with exposure times!
Creativity: Good use of props to make the shot more interesting and warm.
Overall Conclusion: A shot that needed some technical and composition improvement. If you take it with the cat facing the window, send me a copy, bet it'll be gorgeous!

Before and After the Big Biteby RLSComment: Critique Club:
Meets the Challenge: Perfectly!
Composition: I cannot find fault with the composition. Good cropping. Nice neutral colors in the background and the non-subject items help bring out the red in the apples.
Technical Quality: Very Good. Colors perfect, focus very good. I would also (like others below) liked to have seen the "meat" of the bitten apple with more light on it. Maybe a little fill flash with a make-shift bounce would have helped lighten it up or maybe could have been lightened up a little more in a levels adjustment. Focus very good, no post-processing issues noticed.
Creativity: Good, although not what I would consider extremely creative.
Overall Conclusion: Beautiful photograph, well shot and very appealing with lots of warmth expressed.
Hope this helps, if you have questions, feel free to email me.

Different perspectivesby GordonComment: Weel done shot, meets the challenge well. Good clean colors and well exposed, in addition to being clear for such a panoramic shot. |

Commerce Beaconby jenaromComment: Great colors, use of framing by foliage. Like the composition and dramatic lighting. Excellent shot for perspective, good luck. 9 |

Cloisters.by catpixelComment: This whole image seems a bit out of focus, maybe purposefully. |
