Saturnby herfotomanComment: I could make guesses but I prefer to not know what it actually is. That might spoil the mystery. I like the softness of the color and texture and find the asymmetry of the cut off circles very pleasing. I think this would be nice as a print hanging on the wall.
Team Spleen would like to include you in the Queen's court.

first realitiesby daisydavidComment: When i see something like this i start to dabble with the idea of learning film technique. Of course overlays can be done with all digital (and you have done it brilliantly in another essay) but i think there is something more to these that, as yet, i haven't figured out. It would be interesting to see these as prints. I think their "specialness" would be further enhanced. Inspiring essay. |

i by jmritzComment: I'm like some of the others, such an adoring fan it gets ridiculous. Seeing a new essay by you is like getting a new great photography book in the mail. I know i will have something new and exciting to peruse for days. This has been a joy. |

Tracing Yesterday's Footstepsby instepsComment: Beautifully told story. I have occasion to walk by a bamboo grove (right here in Sacramento) and I can never pass it without thinking of your photograph "...and run". I bet now when I pass the bamboo I will think of your smiling woman. This is another remarkable essay. The blending of the two images in your tetraptych is a perfect ending. |

Ambiguityby ubiqueComment: I found the process of learning photography technique to be fairly straight forward. There are resources galore explaining all of the rules, tips, and tricks involved in the operation of the camera, the processing tools, and what a formulaic photograph should look like. What I found to be the most challenging (and continue to find challenging) is taking that knowledge and using it to produce a photograph that has some meaning to me. This is where I feel I have been dropped in a big black hole, left to grasp for any bit of information and inspiration that will help me continue in this hobby of photography. This lovely essay has has given me much to hang on to. Your clever exploration of ambiguity makes conscious what was previously a vague emotion. I am always grateful for your wisdom. And, your one photograph is just perfect for this essay. |
