A beautiful work of love.
Reminds me of a calligraphy scroll.

beautiful working essay twists into a ghost story. what's not to like about this?

I enjoyed the cumulative effect of the bamboo texture in photo after photo.

Beautifully told story. I have occasion to walk by a bamboo grove (right here in Sacramento) and I can never pass it without thinking of your photograph "...and run". I bet now when I pass the bamboo I will think of your smiling woman. This is another remarkable essay. The blending of the two images in your tetraptych is a perfect ending.

I like the smiling woman as well, placed impeccably. There is such a wonderful sense of humanity here.

Everything is there. Beautiful, interesting photographs, and a story told with respect and sensitivity. The triptych to start and the tetraptych to finish is beautifully done and connects the mortal with the spiritual.

This essay would be perfect for presentation/preservation as a hand-made book. But a smallish book; it's a jewel concentrated & precious, not a billboard (nothing to be shouted here, it's a whisper, or better yet a murmur).

Thank you, for keeping the essays alive, and for leading by example.

Such a delight when the smiling woman shows up in the essay! Until that point in time we're in a faceless environment - people there, yes, but faceless to us - then this marvelous smiling woman greets us and we're welcomed into the bamboo with the rest.
