Sarahby stare_at_the_sunComment: Pretty face on a sweet model. It's good that you used fill lighting, a reflector (I'll guess) and I'm quite sure she's holding the reflector, too. The lighting on the chin & the nose are beginning to be too bright. IMHO you would have been better served to have the reflector higher than the face & slightly to the right of the camera. As it is...low-angle fill could cause the "dracula effect" (ala Bela Lugosi) if it was much stronger. Just a tip from someone who always seems to learn the "hard way." |

The Abandoned Windowby squidviciousComment: Nice tryptic! Nice Thirds! Nice! :)
Of course, I couldn't help noticing that the tower attracts the eye & the window serves as framing enhancements to the tower. I am sure many will notice and it could pull down your score. At any rate much success to you! :) |

Bright Ideaby 777STANComment: Well, This one was an experience! Don't feel bad if you don't get the idea. That's because this photo never became as clear in my mind as the rest of my photos did.
The best I can offer is that "Bright Idea" is actually comic irony. I had hoped to portray the concept that as the Day of the Candle began to fade, the Day of the Lightbulb began to "turn on," but right about that moment someone had a "brain hiccup" and tried to improve on Edison's idea by putting a lightbulb on a candlestick.
That didn't work so he started to scratch his head...
Technically, I used an old school desk with photo backdrop cloth draped over it. On the "seat" of the desk I placed a styrofoam packing crate stood on its end. That became the pedestal for the "burning" candle. Apparently, the Zoom Radial blur filter got me DQed because I was trying to convey the idea of zooming forward in Time! Oh, Well! :) |

Butterflyby jpannuComment: Sweet nature shot!
However, technically, the subject of a challenge is usually better served in points by being in focus. Butterfly in focus instead of leaf = 8. As is=4. SAT (Sorry, about that!) :( |
