The strong subject is nice, but it's still not strong enough to overcome the hyper-magnetism of the RED in the rose. This is another photo that draws out a vivid high school memory. (The TEENS...What a critical time of life to have to experiment with cosmetics.) "O, LOOK, Guys! Suzie's lips came to school today...O...and...Suzie came, too!"

On a humorous note the birds' grouping kind of reminds me of one of my band director's comments during a practice on the football field before we entered a competition in high school, "Come on, People! Get those lines straight! We're never going to get a Superior looking like this!!!!" :)

Unique lighting for the foreground because it appears to be a bit unnatural given the mood of the rest of the photo. I am wondering if lower angle with lowest flash setting (or none at all) would have created greater "eye candy." Might even try same shot about two feet forward just past the flowers.
At any rate Great Sunset with just enough cloud cover to create halos! Sweet! :)
