Is this an Iowa license plate from Sexton Ford? Good use of incorporating Waldo's red and white stripes into the photo, it works well with the red and white of the car. Also the red background is nice. Maybe you could have tried going without the tennis shoe, possibly with a white sock? the grey of the tennis shoot and the bright spots on it detract from the photo IMHO. But it's a nice photo, composition wise, and it fits the challenge. Good luck! -Talya

I can see what you were going for to fit the challenge but I don't really know if it works. Technically this photo could be imroved, especially by cropping. There is way too much empty space on both the right and the left sides, and the girl is very centered which isn't usually desirable in photography. Also the fact that just the slightest part of her head is cut off is very bothersome. Cute girl, and cute stuffed animal, but the photo needs some work.

Nice repetition here, and good use of the challenge. Might have liked some brighter colors, but I'm not sure... I maybe would have cropped some off the top. I like the shadows though.

This is cute... and a very nice way to interpret the challenge. Technically I would have liked a little more contrast... and actually I might have liked this photo in color. Nice use of DOF to have the man in focus as well as the screen.

Took me a second look at this photo to find "Waldo" but thats what the Waldo books are all about! Very nicely done in not getting too much of him in there, but still having the human shape in the middle near the blue umbrella. Great job and nice photo to boot. -10-

I'm not really sure how this photo fits the challenge, I really don't see a square/squares/or even a hint of a square here. I think the challenge was pretty self-explanatory on what you should have been looking for.

Technically your photo is not extremely appealing, first of all I really don't see the composition here. What were you going for? what was supposed to be your focal point? it's hard for me to understand what my eye is supposed to be looking at. Your focal lines go all over the place here.

Your exposure is not quite there on this photo, although mostly what you have in the rearview is well exposed, I think that the background is not quite there. I do like what you've caught in the rearview mirror though, especially that straight line of trees. I think this shot could have been done a little better, but thats tough sometimes... good luck with your next entries

Squares and Sky

This is a pretty neat picture, I like the way you still get the idea of squares across, but not quite having a full square (I think challenges can be more in spirit then in physical terms ;-) )

Your focus here is excellent, and I love the contrast of the stark black against the cloudy, pleasantly blue sky. The coloring is really beautiful. Also I like your use of DOF here, you have the well focused "squares" and the background looks slightly blurry which makes you appear to be looking through a window.

I think that technically this photo has a good feeling, the leading lines are very helpful, your eye can follow this picture pretty well, especially since most of the straight lines go from the bottom left to the top right, and the squiggly lines go from the bottom right to the top left, its really interesting. It would not have been as effective if you had put it upright. Also the fact that none of the lines cross directly in the center is excellent.

Overall I think this is a great photo, though maybe not a wow photo, which may be where you lost some points, but you still did pretty well. I think its a pleasant photo to look at, it met the challenge, and was executed well. I really don't have anything to suggest changing about it. Nice Job!
