Smoking is Dead Sexy by TechnoShroomComment: I've heard this phrase as propaganda before... I love the smoking skull though! I think I might have cropped a little off the right hand side. Still a powerful piece of propaganda, yuck look at those butts! -9- |

Burning the Candle at Both Endsby EmerauldeComment: I really feel that there is a lot that could be improved here. I'm going to try and explain why I don't care for this photo, hopefully you will get something out of it. For one... I don't really see anything interesting here, ok it's a candle that has wax puddles on both sides, but there is no meaning to it besides your title. For me it was hard to see what it was, even after I saw the title. The straight down look to the shot is quite unappealing, while it is a different look then one might expect, I'm just not sure it works. To me this shot could have been made more interesting 1, with it on some kind of a stand looking at it from the side 2, with some sort of a bright colored candle (blue or green etc.) 3, I can't tell if it's burning or not, I think it is but it's hard to see, burning from the side, seeing the flame would be nice 4, a white background so that the wax from the brightly colored candle would show up brilliantly and 5, wait for possibly a drip to shoot the photo. As it is, I'm sorry, but I gave it a 1. |

Handbagby ShelleyComment: Great image here... very surreal... good choice to do it in black and white. This isn't a straight photo I think? The hand is very weird, almost looks a little like a solarization... but not quite... I like the effect, and the overall feel to the photo... plus it's quite humorous! Nicely done! 1 of 2 10's in the challenge! Good Luck! |

You drive me nuts by darixComment: This is wonderful! I really like the movement here... and the red color of the driver really adds to this photo. Good lighting... nice job with the black background. How many tries did it take you to get this shot? Very well done! 1 of 2 10's for the challenge. |

A rare privilege by jjbeguinComment: My mouth waters when I see this photo... Chateau d' Yquem is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE wine! Yummy. My dad has quite a bit of this in his wine cellar, but it definitely is a RARE priveledge when he opens up a bottle (even of recent years let alone 1923!). YUMMY! I believe we've had some from around 1900's can't quite remember, but for his 50th birthday we opened a bottle of 1949, his birth year. Beautiful photo! I hope that you might offer this one as a print, as it might be a good present for my dad's wine cellar! YUM YUM! I bet you enjoyed drinking that. Beautifully done JJ! Congrats!

Entertainmentby Everyday ReneeComment: This is a great photo. Wonderful use of low DOF here... I love how you know it's a dog, and he's looking at the grasshopper, but all your attention is also on the bug, almost as though you are the dog. Just very well done! I think cropping some of the top and the left might have helped to make this better compositionally... but I really enjoyed seeing this photo... :-) Nicely done. |

Flyfishing Catch and Releaseby smfsnowindComment: Did you use a flash? Or what are thos ebright spots on the photo... I wish we could see more action like the water moving or something, it kind of just looks like their holding the guy just in the water. He's hooked pretty well. The hand bothers me a lot, because there is just too much light on it. |
