Got Chalk?by tjbel05Comment: Hmmmm... Okay. So the first issue that stands out is the lighting. Flash=bad. (This rule can be broken, but aren't all rules meant to be?) I like the semi circle shape, but the far right set of hands juts into the center blowing the smooth flow of it. The colors are a bit distracting too. I'd try this as either, desaturated 50% or B&W. |

A Portrait Of A Portraitistby KrisbyComment: I thought when I saw this one that it was a Krisby. ;)
Your lighting is getting better althought the sharp shadow behind the left hand and the high contrast of the right hand with the paper point to a little more work there. Love the work. |

Ytsirkby photogrlComment: When you left that comment on my SP entry, I immediately went through to finish voting to find yours and when I saw it I knew. I agree with other that the lighting needs work, but I gave you points for sheer guts.
Try this one again using a Home Depot clip light. Put it where your hand would be if you arm was 45 degrees above the bed. Straighten the bed up a bit, too. ;) |

exhaustedby jdannelsComment: Anybody tell you that you have that 'Al Pacino in Serpico' quality to you? I like the expression. Good DOF. |

Wazzitationby thegrandwazooComment: Well Waz the one thing I notice when looking really close is that under bottom edges of your shoes and jeans has a soft OOF quality to it. It might be the light reflected up, but I can't quite tell. Just to the left of your foot the flowers are in focus compared to the rest. Looks like the blending needs work. ;) |
