Monkey Businessby ShutterPugComment: Greetings from the Critique Club ShutterPug!
First off let me say that I find your title and image hilarious (hope that's what you were going for) but also might have been better received in the "Clichés and Sayings" challenge.
Nice capture. Great subject matter and focus. I do believe there might be a couple of different ways to crop this:
1. A tighter crop all around, taking the trees on the left completely out of the image. As it is, my eye is drawn away from the subject to the out of focus foliage and especially the rock.
2. An off centered crop taking the vertical part of the rock out with the animals in the right third would lead you right to them.
I also think you would've placed higher if nature had cooperated. The way these two "lovers" happen to be lit and placed makes it seem like there is only one monkey but with two torsos and heads - a bit flat. You also might consider applying some unsharp mask to the animals alone to bring out some fur detail. Just lacks the elusive "pop" that the voters look for but overall I think it's a great effort and subject.
Thank you for allowing me to critique your image ShutterPug.
Cheers - Phil |

something new.jpgby noodleboyComment: Overall I like this image. The colors here are some of my favorites and the off centered subject is nice. I think it would be more powerful if the unfocused flower in front was cloned out or pulled out of the frame while shooting. |

Self-Portrait with Architectureby Joey LawrenceComment: Good stuff as usual J. Of course the processing is great but I like the overall image and how you have placed yourself slightly off centered. Please don't use that camera to enter any challenges. I don't want to be knocked out of the top spot ;)

Sunset Clouds and Boatsby tinky2Comment: This is a fine shot indeed. Would've done very well in a challenge as it has all the elements of a high score here at DPC. Nice job. |

Popby glodaComment: This is very cool. How can I not give this shot a high vote? You're probably going to hear the, "blah blah blah - the lollipop should be in focus blah blah blah" but I think it's perfect the way it is. Lotta work. Great job. |
