Great shot of this magical moment. Black and white was a good choice here. Gives it a more private feel.

PS. Welcome to DPC! Can't wait to see more of your work.

Creatively "capture" a shadow.......

Greetings from the Critique Club Scott!

I usually look at the title before viewing the shot. When I first read it I thought, "Okay, not a creative title" as it was copied from the challenge description. Boy was I wrong. This is a very creative title for a very creative "capture" (excuse the pun). I'm quite fond of acidic looking shots so you won't find much in this one that I disagree with. I think the post processing was great fit.

The overblown pole on the left is a bit of a distraction. I don't think it would be as much so if a small part of the pole was cropped out. The top right is a bit blown out as well but I think it works with the angle to give me an almost voyeuristic approach.

Overall a great image and congrats on your 2nd best score.

Thanks for the opportunity to critique this image Scott.

Cheers - Phil

Greeting from the Critique Club Shannon!

Congrats on your 3rd highest score to date.

I like this image and am fond of how the lines in the shed distort the areas of the shadow. I also think the use of open space was a nice touch. The tones are pleasing as well.

I guess what I would critique would be just a few small points. The shadows to the right and left of the subject are a bit distracting. For an image like this to really pop you want to see the color or background lead right up to the model's shadow. The other thing I'd like to mention is the very top right corner. While it is not a huge distraction I think it could've been cropped out.

Overall a great shot!

Thanks for the opportunity to critique this photo Shannon!

Cheers - Phil

Hello Gayle and welcome to DPC.

This is a beautiful image you have here. The silhouette of the trees framing the sunset is magnificent and I love the point of view. Nice job. Can't wait to see more of your work!

This is a good one of Pete. Your image of him is cropped just about the same as his pic of you. Coincidence? I think not.
