I wish the background would have been either brighter or darker to contrast the tonal values of the subject. I think the greenish-yellow of the plate is a little distracting. Having the plate neutral would have helped bring out the food. The composition is perfect for the subject, and I like the shallow depth of field, but I wish it included the closest berry too.

I really light the light on the onion, but the green tomato could use a little brightening to make it a little more consistent with the other subjects. I wish the cloth on the table was flat. The tall veggie works very well as a natural border to keep the focus of the viewer in the image. Nice overall shot.

The tiniest bit too busy for my taste, but still very well done. Very crisp and vibrant. The harsh light works well here and gives a lovely sparkle in the beer.

I wish the front of the burger was in focus. The light is a bit too harsh for my taste; a bit of diffusion that maintains the direction of the light would be more attractive. Showing that grill a bit more in the background would have also helped establish the location, which might have added a wonderful background.

A real mouthful

This photo would really pop with some sharpening. I don't think the voters will like this image paired with this challenge, but the sharpening would have helped a lot. The colors would be gorgeous with a little boost too.

I Love Tomatoes!

Tomatoes are hard to photograph with a shallow depth of field because their skin's texture is such that it always looks out of focus even if it's not. A little more sharpening during post-processing would have brought out the parts of this that are definitely in focus, which would have helped the score (I'm guessing you're getting a lot of "Out of focus!" comments).

Giant Burger and Beer

The juicy burger, the salad, the chips/fries, and the beer look perfect. I'm confused by the farthest back element--it looks like a burlap bag? Whatever it is, it looks out of place. The rest of the image is pretty much spot-on. The light on the burger is perfect.
