Family Tombby primabarbaraComment: I like the lighting on this one. The POV is also good. The crop is not bad but I probably would have brought it in slightly on the left |

The old wise birdby ilkaComment: Hello from the critique club....
1st off I need to say that I do disagree with your 1 and only commentor. The DOF is great...... I love how the focus is on the eye. That adds alot to me. It makes the bird look at me and that draws my eye. I absolutely like to see the background and the foreground are out of focus. I think it really works for this shot. Another thing I really like.........the colors.....absolutely brilliant. Overall I think your score was a little bit low......
Unfortunately I cant give you any negative marks on your shot. I always try to give a few negative aspect of a pic to help a photographer to improve....The only prob I really like this pic. Anyway nice shot and keep it up. Happy shooting |

Santa lostby tigerluongComment: Hello from the critique club...
1st of all....overall nice shot. In anything but a candid photo maybe not. I am sure you were in a hurry to take the shot (candid). I almost expect to see things that aren't right. The focus is off. I agree with the comment below saying that it looked like the focus is on the girls shoulder....Again for me that would not hurt your score from me (it's a candid shot). Now the cropping of the hat is a bit awkward. It would have been nice to see the entire hat. The thing I really like is the B&W. What can I say....I am a sucker for black and white.
After really examining this shot....even with the missed focus and the cropped hat....I would have given you a 6. I did not vote in this challenge |

Rut Quiescenceby aliquiComment: Hello from the critique club...
1st I'll explain what I like: I love the framing. The trees frame the elk nicely. I also like the amount of detail in the trees and grass. Your focus is spot on....
OK there is only 1 thing that I really think hurts this pic. Lighting. The light in the background I find too harsh. (I am sure this was taken in mid day). I did not vote in this challenge but I would have given you a 5.
Overall nice shot. Keep shooting |

Cabbage Apple Queenby posthumousComment: Hello from the critique club...
Don, You got beat up on this image. The first thing that I thought was this pic is strait out of the 70's (that would not hurt your score from me). I do like the foreground with the nice leaves. I also think that the light is too harsh on your model. The framing is good but I would love to know what she is holding. Overall I would say OK pic. I would have given it a 5. |

Alone With Oneselfby JakeKurdsjukComment: Hello from the critique club...
I must tell you....I am not a big fan of abstracts (grainy pics), however, I do like this. The bird (I assume its an egret)really draws my eye. The water in the foreground is nice. Even though there is a lot of grain the trees are nice and crisp. That is very nice. Overall I think it is a nice image. Keep it up. |

We can't resist to that....isn't ?by clickodakComment: Hello from the critique club....
ok the 1st thing I saw was the motion blur. As noted in your previous comments....That was prob because the person holding it was unsteady. Also in this case I think the hands are somewhat distracting.
On a different note... you chose an excellent subject. It matches the challenge perfectly. I did not vote on this challenge but if I did I would probably give it a 5. |

Cleveland from the Lakeby photokopComment: Hello from the critique club...
First I will start with the good. I absolutely love the HDR effect this has. It almost always improves a landscape. The colors are nice and vibrant. I love the clouds. To me clouds are a great extra in a landscape.
Now on to the bad, and there is not much. The tall buildings seem to lean. I like taking landscapes myself and have struggled with this prob. It's actually the 1st thing I saw while viewing this.
Overall this is a good HDR. I hope to see more from you. Happy shooting |

Let the sparks flyby KMcCComment: Hello from the critique club.....
This really is a very nice shot, and I think your score showed that. The lights (sparks) dance nicely through the image. In fact, I would have been nervous about getting hot slag on my camera / lens.
Overall nicely done. Keep it up |

Breeze that blows through the windowsby clickodakComment: Hello from the comment club....
You chose the perfect setup for the "wind" challenge. I can almost feel the breeze coming in. This was a difficult challenge to enter but you hit the nail on the head.
I like the contrast between the white and green curtains. I just would like to have seen a little light...(not much) in the room where this was taken. I think that would have added more detail to the curtains.
I did not vote in this challenge but I prob would have given this a 6. Good job |
