Superb composition and excellent capture of the moment. It really works well in B&W too! I must confess: since the start of the voting process, I've been asking myself how to deal with the children images. I wonder if they belong in a nude challenge. Don't get me wrong here; I KNOW their nudity is shown in a very sweet and innocent way, as children should be shown, in all their splendor and simplicity. And yours is the perfect example of how good a photo of a nude child can be. I just question the validity of this type of shot in the context of a Nude Challenge on DPC, as I don't feel it is a "nude shot" but more a "innocent shild" shot. Regardless, who am I to judge? :-) I give you a 7 for a superb photo. Congrats.

Very well done! Lovely image! One of the best this challenge. Very nice lighting. Three things I feel could have helped this photo: 1-no mask. But i understand that it was probably a request from the model. I can live with that. :-) 2- slightly tilting the chin higher and perhaps letting the lips open a littlebit to convey a sense of relaxation and content. 3- Watch the elbows. For some reason unknown to me, many women can ply their elbows in the wrong direction, giving a sense of weirdness to the pose. All in all, an excellent shot! 7

Hi. Nice try here. Some feedback: you're on the right track here by trying to use the diagonal line. This line is very present in a lot of glamour photos. Unfortunately, the leg as it is cripples the line . Perhaps having her stretch her leg more to the left to continue the line would have helped. Also, be careful with the hair... Hair is tough to control. But remember, it's always better to have the hair not in the way of the viewing. In this case, flipping the hair on the shoulder would have helped clear the neck and continue the skin on the body. It would also have cleared part of the face. But all things considered, this is a good basic nude photo. I congratulate you on your effort to participate inthis challenge. Few sent in a photo, and of those, not many tackled the challenge with a real nude, like you did. Bravo! Keep it up! 6

Hi. I think you did a very nice photo here. It's beautifully made and captures the moment well. The composition is nice, the colors and the soft white as background. It's a nice cat photo. Unfortunately, I really don't think it fits in the NUDE challenge. I'm sorry to say, this will affect greatly the score I give for this one. Nice cat. No nude. 2

Now that I look at it, I think this is the stupidest title I could ever come up with for this photo. Oh sure, I thought it was funny when I submitted it... The red wine was too good that night. The photo is not that good either. I had to crop it way too much to get it and overuse the unsharp mask tool. I captured this photo during a shoot. The model's expression is real. She saw something that scared her to death and I happened to take the shot.

I feel this photo could have used minor adjustments here and there to make it better. For instance, the jaw could have been more relaxed, maybe with the mouth opening a little. As it is, the face looks a bit crisp (probably due to the nervosity of being naked and photogrpahed- I see this often with my models). The crop at the top could have been closer to the head as well. On the positive side, the use of the shallow depth of field is perfect for this type of shot, putting emphasis ont he model instead of the surroundings. Nice use of monohrome color. Very nice skin details. The angle of the model's pose is nice too but... I feel it is missing something- or perhaps it looks too staged, unnatural. I think the action of the model is missing a purpose. I find myself wondering why she is touching her breast because I can't see what the model feels... Is it joy? Pleasure? Sensuality? I dont know because I don't feel any of these looking at this photo. Do you see what I mean? The lighting is very nice. Congrats on tentering the nude challenge! Keep it up! 6

Hi. I\'m writing a comment because you called the photo a Study of Male in Nude. I do not mean to be rude by the following comment: If this is a study, where IS the research? Why is it I feel you didn\'t push yourself in the exploration of this photo? What could improve greatly this photo would be a better use of the lighting. One lightsource, stronger, at a different angle, comes to mind. The use of B&W would also helpt this photo greatly; it would, for start, get rid of the reds in the skin color- which is also very pale and discolored. The basics of nude photography is to create a specific atmosphere through the use of the body forms and the use of lighting and colors. As it is, the photo looks more like a shot of a corpse than anything else. It is cold, lifeless, and close to being repulsive. I hope my comment will not discourage you. I understand that my wording can be on the heavy side. But I encourage you to try again, but this time, play with the lighting and convert your photos in black and white. Also, try to direct your model into an emotion. And finally, move your camera to different angle to force yourself to look at things froma different perspective. Good luck, and congrats on entering the challenge. 3

Embrace

An embrace is something that evoques passion or tenderness- or perhaps even sadness. Unfortunately, this shot as it is doesn't show any of these. Maybe it's the choice of angle. Or the flat lighting. Or the underexposition. Or all of the above... Also, skin is not equal to nudity. IMO, this is not really a nude shot. Never the less, I congratulate you on entering the challenge and on trying to be original.
