BumbleBeeby GregoryBComment: Interesting looking fellow. I like the little blue patch on his back. I wish the focus was just a touch more forward so his eye would also be in focus intstead of being just ever so slightly out of the focal plain. Good detailed shot showing all the little hairs. |

Autumn Leaves - Up Close and Personalby PrismComment: I think if this wasnt tripod mounted and no wind this might have hurt your sharpness. I see 1/15 @ 200ISO. You might want to bump up your ISO to increase your shutter speed. The image is a touch soft, but has wonderful coloring to it. The details of the leaf and the textures are good, but with added sharpness could be even better. I actually like the fact that you chose to off center the leaf and cut it off. It makes a better photo to me. |

Macro 01by KenComment: What a great combination of colors he has. I cant believe with all that going on he has made it that big and not been eaten. Normally a brightly colored hopper like that wont make it too long, good thing you captured him when you did. I like the focus plane being right on the eye. I'm not sure if the white vignette has been added or not, but the photo looks like something you would see in a dream sequence. |

fuschiaby pjangelComment: I'm going to nitpick a bit, even though I really like this piece. But hopefully you will understand my thinking and it will help.
There is a blown spot on the small flower as well as the larger one, and a color shift caused from over exposure it appears. Next time in this situation with the really dark background and the light high like this. I might suggest either a soft off camera flash to light the lower portion of the flower, not enough to make it light even and flat, just enough to raise the shadows, underexposing the background even more then what it is, and saving the blown areas, which would clean up your color shift and add to the shot. I like the fact that you are using a non macro lens as well. I had no idea the 100-400 could do this well.

Still Snarkyby Art RoflmaoComment: I'm not sure how I missed this one in the thread. But I have to say. I might have kept this one for a FS entry, or added a cape to him with an S on his chest! This shows alot of great qualities. Nice soft lighting, almost softbox or umbrella high and to camera left. Or a great job of directional bounce. Its very nice with shadows to show texture, both on Snarky and the fungi. This is a 10 in my book. Very nice Art. |

macro-3.jpgby incubusComment: I like where you are going with this. But like the others I feel the colors are just a touch flat. Add some spice to the file by upping the contrast, the difference will be huge. |

?by Art RoflmaoComment: So thats what my teeth will look like after enjoying one of them huh? Thats very nice detail, those are pretty small items if I remember correctly. I can almost see the sugar that will rot my teeth. |

Who took the lollies from the lol lollie jar?by GregoryBComment: Interesting take using the composite idea. I'm not so sure how I feel about having the OoF plane separating the two images. Normally focus stacking would include detail throughout the entire image, or at least bring an entire area into focus while still leaving the rest OoF. This is interesting effect though. |

1-oct 08 macro. flower with beeby rozComment: I'm not going to count this as one of my comments, so consider this a bonus! I love this shot and the detail that it has. This is very well done. The detail in the flower stem is amazing. I do agree that a little eye detail would have been nice. Perhaps mask the rest and do a little shadow highlights on that area. Other then that this is well done. |

Chain in the rainby bjoernComment: An interesting Point of view, The focus point of the water drops is nice. I almost wish this was horizontal rather then vertical. I like the leading line that takes me from the focal point off the corner of the photo. A touch more contrast could be used in a few places. And I like the conversion to monochrome. |
