I saw your comment in the thread in reference to my image. Sports almost always require a faster lens. I might suggest picking up an 85 F1.8 lens to get you some speed and a good focal length on your cropped camera. Sports like Wrestling aren't as demanding on shutter speed as other sports, but the lighting usually stinks. The image I posted is shot at 2000ISO and most of the day I shot at 2500ISO or 3200ISO. Good luck to your son. I was a wrestler in HS 20 years ago so I know the sport inside and out which also helps shoot it.

Might I suggest that you bring the yellows down selectively, the arrow at the bottom keeps grabbing my attention on an otherwise really nice and interesting photo.
