''One of those without name''by BalkanComment: Greetings from the critique club. First I'd like to say that I love the angled approach to the challenge, it leads me up to a nice point and leads me no where, hence you met the challenge well. I wish you had found a spot where the foreground wasnt as busy, the "stain" or whatever it is in the foreground is a bit captivating as a viewer and takes my attention from the leading point. Overall I like the desat/B&W conversion and the toning of the photo. Scored about where I think it should have. |

Sunflowerby LVicariComment: Greetings from the critique club. First let me congratulate you on a top 10 finish. This is a very nicely done photo with good colors, saturation and framing. The only real suggestion I might have for you based on your comments and your photographer comments is this. Your using a kit lens thats known to need stopped down to sharpen it up a bit. I'd have suggested going to F8 to help with the softness(pixelation) of your daughter that you talk about. Based on your lens in your profile I might have also suggested that you use the 50 1.8 to do this same shot with the same dof and you likely would have gotten a sharper photo. You scored very well and finished nicely. Good luck in future challenges. |

Womanby NatashaComment: Greetings from the critique club. First let me say that I think you already know that you might have stretched a bit on the challenge. However a nice photo will usually score well. I think you already know that the dress is lost in the BG and the flower is blown too far out losing you some points. I wish the framing hadnt been so tight to give some headroom(pun intended) and their are some distracting lines in the background. Over all you scored well for the challenge with the flaws in the shot. Good luck in future challenges. |

Softer than soft...by pfgbelComment: Greetings from the critique club. First off let me compliment you on a challenge very well done. I love the simplicity of this photo and the use of the blacked out background.Photo is sharp and scored very well. I'm not sure what I could offer to help you make it better. Overall I think you did very well in the challenge with almost a top 20 finish. |

Off the railsby meneleComment: Greetings from the critique club. First I'd have to say you met the challenge with what seems to be a common theme for the challenge. I'd say that the symmetry and the desat/B&W conversion worked well for you. I'd liked to have seen just a touch more constrast with it. I'd also have suggested a lower angle. to maybe take a bit of the powerlines out of the composition. Otherwise you did fairly well with the subject matter and the challenge. |

the way to dropby thefisherkingComment: Greetings from the critique club. First let me say that I think you met the challenge pretty well, your composition is pretty well, however there really isnt much to keep the viewers attention, and it doesnt have the Pop of colors that the voters seem to demand. You have pretty decent focus although just a touch sharper wouldnt hurt, maybe a slight pass of USM in photoshop would sharpen it up a touch after resizing. Overall a nice entry, good luck in future challenges. |

Pennsylvania Avenueby levyj413Comment: Greetings from the critique club. Let me first start off with saying that I'm not sure how well you met the photo-challenge connection. The Vanishing point actually goes to the capitol building. I do like the fact that you used shadows/highlights to accenuate the photo the processing is pretty good. I do think that at night tripod mounted this would have been a stronger image, however its still going to end at the capitol building. Overall I'd say you scored about where I would have put it in a tough challenge. |

Greenfinchby korpenComment: Greetings from the critique club. You definately met the challenge with a very creative abstract shot. I like the composition, but wish it was vertically flipped so that I didnt feel like I had to stand on my head. The post processing otherwise is very nice, but I'm not sure about the blue tinging on the left side at the tip of one of the feathers. I'm not sure I can suggest anything else to make it better, overall pretty nicely done and finished close to where I would have voted it(6 from me)

Greenhouse Effectby cloudsmeComment: Greetings from the Critique Club. First let me state you met the challenge well. I like the leading lines, and I think the centering works pretty well on this shot. I wish the leading lines would lead me to a point of interest, or off into the sunset so to speak, instead it leads me to a woman. I almost wish it had been in color though. The flowers hanging from the ceiling make the photo just a bit too busy for me. Overall its a nice challenge entry and scored just about where I would have expected. Good luck in future challenges. |
