-En el camino otra vez-On the road again--by justineComment: Critique Club critique:
Composition/Content: I think you had a good idea but had trouble putting it together. There are too many things in the photograph. It might have worked better if you had draped the Mexican blanket and arranged a smaller number of things on it or around it. I think people would have understood "travel to Mexico" with just the travel bag with the top closed and one or two of the Mexican items arranged on or around it.
Background: The background looks set-up because the bend in the blanket at the bottom of the picture shows the table's edge. This distracts from the subject.
Camera Work/Technical: The exposure is right and the image is in focus.
Digital Processing: I agree with a previous comment that Mexico is traditionally very colorful and making the image with rich colors would be more effective.
My Opinion: The image depicts travel to Mexico but needs pizazz, color, and excitement, all of which could be expressed with color and a more creative presentation.

Traveled to Watch the Elk Travelby kandyjComment: Critique Club critique:
Composition/Content: You really got a good shot of the Elk. Framing him in the middle of the image makes him the center of attention. It's too bad he's moving away slightly, but you still managed to get part of his face which shows some of his character. Great subject.
Lighting: It looks like it might have been cloudy with no shadows which accentuates his dark underside and almost white back. Makes the subject very interesting.
Background: Good job with a difficult background.
Camera Work/Technical: There is some grain from either a long zoom or enlarging a small crop.
Digital Processing: Despeckling would help get rid of some of the black and white specks in the background, smoothing the background slightly and separating the Elk from the background a little. Then increasing the contrast some brings out the dark underside and white back, separating the Elk even more from the background.
My Opinion: Besides needing a little post processing I think you did an excellent job in capturing a very interesting animal. The more I look at the image the more I like it.

A 6 hour flight with nothing else to doby awmk1981Comment: Critique Club critique:
Composition/Content: You have managed to capture an image that is difficult to capture. The wing extending to the top of the picture above the clouds and into the blue sky lifts the whole image. It gives the feeling of flying, a difficult thing to do. It looks like you were sitting on the wing when you took this picture. Great composition and nice job of keeping the window glare and reflections out of the image.
Camera Work/Technical: The exposure looks just right and the focus is slightly affected by the plane window, but not enough to take away from the image. It looks like you might have used a filter or it was a very clear day, either way, the result is way above many hazy airplane shots.
Digital Processing: Some artifacts in the blue sky can be removed using Neatimage, which also sharpens some of the edges on the wings. It doesn't really need it but it does improve it slightly.
My Opinion: I love the way the image gives the feeling of lift and of rising above the clouds into the blue sky. Very well done.
