This is such a lovely nature shot! I love the old style camera is included in the composition for it adds an additional subject of interest (especially to us photographers:-) ) The thing that I feel spoils the beauty of the shot and composition is the processing. The colors are way too bold that they become garrish to look at. The greens, yellows, and reds are oversaturated in color. To a lesser extent the level of detail could also be toned down just a little because it too suffers a tad of being too oversharp. |

Epihany in the Parkby hesitantComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Love the angle of composition, color and clarity of this shot. The bench promises to give the audience a front row seat for maximum 'illumination'. I wonder how many 'epihanies' or breakthroughs there have been from just on that bench sitting, relaxing and calmly thinking upon the problem or question...
I do have two critiques/observations. The detail is tack sharp but the slight blur to the grass in the lower right quadrant looks rather odd in my eyes. Second, I think if the picture was a little darker (not too dark) it would further strengthen the symbology of seeking illumination and further boast the ambience. |

The Feast by jagarComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
B&W tones are fabulous! The man standing there looks to be waiting for more 'guests' to arrive. With only 4 pigeons 'at the table' there is room for more to join in on the feast:-) It makes me wonder where is he keeping the food for the birds - mayhap in his pant pocket? Nice capture of a slice of life. |

Love the tender moment of affection captured here between this woman and the elephant. Lighting is great - shows off great details from the skin texture of the elephant to the wisps of hair that have worked free from her braid. Only one small cbservation- her hair has some blueish tones in it. I can't really tell if that is processing or if it occurs naturally as that I have heard that deep black hair can give off a blue sheen like that with the right light. |

Love the soft diffused look to these tulips - it adds a sense of touch/texture. These flowers are soft and delicate. There is a 'dreamy' quality to this shot...and I just noticed the stars in the backdrop which are a nice subtle touch. |

I like the tilt of the head and the faraway look with the touch of a smile as she looks out the train window. She is traveling to some destination and the audience is left wondering just what she may be thinking with that smile of fond rememberence of what has past or expectation of what is to come. Her style of dress recalls the days of the 1930's or 1940's. I think the play of soft light from the window really complements the model and adds to that nostalgic mood of 'daydreaming'. |

Great tones in this animal portrait. Love the action of the giraffe bending down to clean/check the area on his/her shoulder. Love how you can see all the details in the pattern and the down to the hairs on his 'mane' |

My backyard visitorby jimsappComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
How neat is that to be able to look outside the window and see living nature outside! You have such great detail in the fur, muzzle and the eyes of the fox but you need to play up those strengths. As it stands now those great details get lost with too much 'negative' space that does nothing for the composition. Bring me closer to this beautiful animal. I don't know if you have the large size to do this but I would crop it down to a square crop that starts just a bit above the front leg and gets the whole head with the pine tree as the backdrop. With that closer view your audience will get and appreciate all the great details by coming face to face with this fox. |

"On this broken merry go 'round and 'round and 'round we go"by MinsoPhotoComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Nice moody lighting here. Love the movement trails that are on his dark side. Normally not a fan of so much negative space but it truly works in this composition. I get the sense of movement of him moving from one point in his life to the next. The only thing with the title is I wish there was something within the photograph to give us a visual indication of round or circular. Perhaps if all the movement trails were all in the same curved motion or the wall being curved/rounded. When you can show more within the composition rather than telling it becomes that much more stronger. Still a great photograph. |
