Congrats on the Red! Lighting and set-up are fabulous and play perfectly into the feel of a yesteryear Ad advertising Coca-cola.

Very good lighting and pose that is a nice homage to Russell Lee's work (you made me curious so I googled and enjoyed spending some time looking at his work). I think I see the texture overlay but it is very subtle on the homesteader and the wood post (I think it is adding some color toning). Where I see it most is in the sky (it looks to be a concrete wall or wall with two shades to it). The only suggestion I would have to improve the shot and conjure up a stronger impression that the gent is a homesteader is to mayhap used a different overlay texture which would have given the skintones a look that he indeed works out in the sun (I'm basing this on the photo of Lee's Homesteader in the cornfield where he clearly has the skin tones of a man who works out in the sun and bears the marks on his face) Still a great photo but wonder if the overlay might be too subtle for some of the DPC crowd.

Love the title of the photo that not only plays with the meaning by giving the photo an aged/retro look but also 'directional' travel. The escalator shot has the coming and going of people in the two states of travel (up and down). The overlay and faded tones gives this shot the feel of an aged photograph - one that has markings of the passage of time given the fade spots on the bottom right corner and a bit on the left side edge.

Nice classic car. The color toning and the overlay really give this a feel of looking through a photo album, finding the page, and then recalling fond memories of one's first car.

Wonderful details on the butterfly and love the angle where you see this beautiful insect framed by the leaf and the pink flower in the backdrop. I like the colors too - a little faded to give a sense of age. The texture overlay is something I'm not sure really works. While it gives some good texture feel to the leaf it makes the backdrop rather busy and in a way overpowering. I wonder what this would look like if the opacity was lowered to be more subtle or if another texture would have given a better balance.

Very nice photo of this day at the beach for father and son. Love the colors and capture. It is a strong photograph in of itself but for me the textural overlay is overbearing. Rather than support/project the mood of a time worn memory the texture overpowers the image with being in the forefront. I think it is especially overpowering with the 'pebble/ scattered stone' texture on the bottom half where the sand is. The 'cobblestone' bumpy feel of the stones is in direct conflict with the smoothness of the sand - if anything would complement the textural feel of sand it would be the 'grittiness' of noise or the possibly the texture you see in the sky (but only less). I think if you pulled back on the opacity of the texture to make it more subtle it would compliment the photo more rather than overpower it.

Spectacular work with this still life! Love the faded warm hues which nourishes the mood that these faded & dried roses are a sentimental keepsake. The texture overlay adds to the warmth of the photo but also gives a sense of touch especially with the dried roses. We can 'feel' the age of the dried petals.

Very nice candid portrait of a girl in her backyard garden. The faded hues speak of a time in the past. The overlay adds the texture of time - a well worn photograph.

There is something very 'down the shore' about this capture. The border works on this one - making it feel like a cross between an old photograph in a scrapbook and a polaroid. The image grain, the shift in colors due to age, and the water stains project the idea that this as a well loved captured memory of a day at the beach. Nicely done.

These are the eyes that cherish the colors of each and every sunrise.
