Non-final destinationby LandzEncaComment: Voted earlier, coming back to comment.
My first reaction, "Holy smokes - that is some demolition dust being kicked up". But then on closer inspection it is not dust - it's MOTION! This is a really cool long exposure shot. People rushing to their destinations, flowing down the stairs. They seem to burst into dust at the bottom of the escalator in the flurry of their activity. The escalator can be seen as a representation of life and life's journey. The end of the destination at the bottom of the escalator is where it comes to an end and where all life returns to dust/ash. |

filloryby odriewComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now.
Fillory...as in the book Magicians? I love the processing that gives this a warm golden hue - like it is a pleasant memory being revisited. In some ways it has a 'textural' feel that makes me think of a painting. The fields of gold are inviting to explore and the barn in the backdrop promises to be an interesting destination. |

Buttery Layers of Goodnessby DennisheckmanComment: Beautiful colors of gold and orange. It is like waves/ripples on the surface of the water. Texture, shape, and color are all spectacular in this shot. |

One Man's Freedomby hesitantComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
Absolutely LOVE the mood and capture of meaning in this photo. The car has always been a symbol of freedom and spirit of adventure. It is a means to get from one place to another. The juxtaposition of the car next to the man in the wheelchair speaks to me that he has the means to be free from any limitations life sets upon him and the ability to set out on an adventure wherever he sets his mind to. Where there is a strong will and a means of travel there is a way to get to your destination. I really hope to see this in the top 5. Spectacular capture and the B&W processing is just stunning (10). |

The Flying Paintress by Alex_PetriniComment: Well, now I am truly glad I did not enter as that I had an idea similar to this. Congrats on the ribbon! Fabulous work and hat's off to you with the patience and persistence it took to get the shot. The colors, the lighting, and the mood of the this shot is just pure art. |

Brigetteby DeniseComment: Look at that cute face! Such an adorable expression! B&W is just perfect for the 'old tyme' feel especially with all the other elements in the shot (brick, wood floor and the old stove) that make me think of Little House on the Prairie. |

She waitsby Yo_SpiffComment: She waits for love to arrive
but stays locked behind the fence.
Her chains link together shielding
from any hurt or harm.
But love never ventured
far from the gate,
withers as a flowering vine
that has not been watered.
The overall mood of the composition speaks sadness to me. The processing and focus is very artsy in that it is a thought provoking portrait. She waits behind the fence and there is that flowering vine that is all withered. Because she is behind the fence and unsmiling it invoked the thought that while she awaits love and affection but she shields herself from hurt and harm by erecting a chainlink fence. Because she never ventures far from her mental barriers meant to protect love dies on the vine. |

Mountain Goatsby GUTomekComment: Of the Three Goats Gruff many have heard of the tales,
but the truth is far from the myth the littlest kid wails.
Our big brother took on the bridge troll so the story does go.
His horns lowered to charge and ram our foul foe.
They both did fall when that horrible ogre caught hold.
We spoke our plight but sad stories don't sell we were told.
With the two of us were tired, sad, starving and very cold,
we bitterly rewrote our memoir and in Hollywood it sold.
Nice capture of these two goats in their natural surroundings. They look so wild and free - I wonder how close they allowed you to get to them? The first time I viewed the photo I could not help but instantly think of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. My mind then started to wonder - what, then happened to the third goat? Thus the story just unfolded as I gazed upon your picture. |

Gone Fishin'by TommyMoe21Comment: The hunter's wings swoop
hooked talons shoot forward -
fish netted in claws
Great action shot - truly a great catch (yes, pun intended:-) ) You captured some nice details here from the feathers of the wings to the droplets of water coming off the talons & fish. |

It's a Big Worldby sjhulsComment: Look ahead, as far as the eye can see.
The world stands before you & me
Tall mountains to scale,
deep waters to sail,
open fields to explore
and blue skies in which to soar.
Life is an adventure
alone you will not venture.
Together we go, hand in hand,
my sister, my friend.
Love the feel and mood of this photo. The two young girls stand before the world. The land is both beauty and obstacles to overcome in life's journeys. It is a wide world of filled with joy at discovery and challenges with tough boundaries to cross. But each is not alone - these two girls, these sisters have each other to share the journey with. |
